Previous Day

Looks like Bear was at war with his glucose and insulin last PM, glucose won but not by much.
This morning I fed the curve to lessen the drop & to hopefully help prevent another bounce. We will see the outcome.

I think tomorrow morning I am going to increase Bear by .25.
We haven't seen green since 2-21 PM and after tonight that is 10 cycles.
I know after 5 units the increase called for is .05 units but I need to get him to a half point on the syringe.

4.25 (51)
Well hopefully feeding Bear a half an ounce of 14% plus half an ounce of 5% will raise his BG.
His nadir has been +5 or +6 when he isn't being chaotic.

+4.75 (57)
I would prefer a green surf in the mid 60's but I don't want to give him anymore food.
I want to wait to see if his BG will rise without food influence at 3:30AM.
As long as his BG doesn't drop too low between now and 3:30.

WHOOA!! Bear! What are you doing???

Don't have any advice as I'm new-ish myself, but I'll be here as moral support if needed plus I'm curious what Bear does next.

Thanks Crista!
He is holding steady at 5.25 (57).
Are you up early morn or super late after 2:30AM?

I'm currently working a night shift and periodically will sit down and not work and peruse the internet so I'm here all night :joyful:

He really does.
I haven't been able to make heads or tails of Bear's last two cycles.
Can you hazard a guess as to his down, up and repeat craziness?
Apart from him being a cat, no I can't.
@Bron and Sheba
I think today's AM cycle was a breaking bounce cycle?
Maybe but he didn't drop really Low in the previous several cycles to trigger a bounce. He did bounce after the Low greens on the 15 and 17 Feb but nothing significant since. He is getting better numbers generally I think. Some cats settle down to good numbers quickly but a lot take a lot longer so I think you just have to wait it out. At least you are getting some lovely green numbers.

That's rough! Glad you're able to stay up though
If I get all my ducks in a row sometimes I can catch an hour nap after my mother's Wound Care Nurse and Physical Therapist leave my house.
If I wasn't mom's caregiver I would have my full time job and certainly wouldn't be able to watch over Bear during his night time activities. Lol!
There are always positives when you look for them. :)

+6.25 (50)
Well ladies this is unfortunate.
Bear usually has already dipped into his overnight food by now and grazes on what is left by 6AM.

Any thoughts?
Stall another 30 minutes?

He sure has been riding the low darker green line.

I'd just see what he does next without food. 50 is still okay.

Two things I'm thinking: 1) is this cycle considered a cycle he's breaking a bounce? and 2) if it is, would this be considered when thinking about the dose? Hopefully the more experienced gurus will have answers tomorrow (later today)

I've been told that a cycle that's breaking a bounce has extra momentum and will bring numbers lower. So... sorry I'm not too helpful. Just giving you more things to think about lol!

I would probably hold this dose as his AM cycles haven't been giving him much green levels unless some of the veterans thought I should decrease.
Going to test now.

Eureka we have a rise in BG!
+6.75 (58)
He didn't earn a reduction which works well.
I am going to feed a hungry Kitty and get a nap.
Thank you both for having a PJ party with me!
