Daddy Jack's Mommy (GA)
Member Since 2019
I've been struggling and poking and worrying over being able to get Jack's BG because the entire ear poking ritual has been a near disaster! Most of the time, since this newly diagnosed adventure, I couldn't even get a BG reading and didn't give him insulin because of that. Then yesterday morning, Jenna Josie shared a link on testing and shooting tips, and the last two BG readings were"almost" a cinch! In the comments section of that article, I learned that I can collect Jack's blood on my fingernail and then let him go. Then, I use the strip and sip up his blood from my nail. It's unbelievable how much easier this is. Today, only one poke did the job. I instantly transferred the drop to my thumbnail and Jack didn't have the time to escape (or shake his head so the blood flies off). I'll do this every single time now. Whew! Now I can now focus on bringing Jack's very high BG numbers down.
