2-25 Bear/AMPS 349/+3 141/+5 114/PMPS 184/+3 231/+5 217

I'm not sure what you are asking. There is a formula that is a first approximation for the number of calories he shouild get a day. Of course age, activity, etc. vary that a bit. As far as %carbs you need to feed, that is ECID. Each cat is different in how carb sensitive they are. Doing experiments with quantities and amount of carbs will help you figure out what works for Bear.

@Wendy&Neko
When I have focused on eating healthy I have always used an app which did all the leg work, giving me the totals of my meal like 3 eggs & blueberries= 38% carbs, 27% protein and 43% fat.
When I mix two different foods half & half with each a different percentage of carbs how do I get the total percentage of carbs for the meal?
I think you would divide each by 2 and add both sums?
5% divided by 2= 2.5%
12% divided by 2= 6%
2.5% + 6%= 8.5%
It has been a while since I have had to think about dividing and adding fractions with all the modern bells and whistles of technology.
Plus majority of the time I cook by memory and taste so I don't alter recipe fractions very often.

I confirm the math is correct! ... the simplest formula if you mix 50% and 50% is:

sum 5 and 12=> 17 ... then divide by 2 (because you added 2 parts).... which is again 8.5%

Formula is a little different if you mix different amounts of parts ... like 25% of one and 75% of the other ;) ...but I don't want to confuse you with this one because it's a little more complicated

I am not sure though that mixing a LC with a MC reduces the carbs affect..... we should hear someone expert in food composition

If you give your cat a teaspoon of 35% HC mixed in his LC i think it still keeps his HC effect ...but it would be nice to hear some experts

I think it would have to lower the percentage when you are calculating the sum of the meal.
We could always post in the Health Forum to see what others think, lol.

I think the affect is possibly the amount of calories for the meal which wouldn't be reduced but added together???

We need a dietician.
There is quite a few factors to consider.
We both know the larger the amount/weight of the food and the amount of total carbs is what makes the affect.
Stefano, I think you are as OCD as I am, lol.
