Yesterday caber 128 HAPPY GOTCHA DAY
1 year ago today Love was put in a carrier for the longest ride of her life. She left Canada about 7 AM crossed the border a 8:36 AM. Handed off to @Ella & Rusty & Stu(GA) and continued on her way. It was such a nerve wracking day from me. I picked her up at 4 PM, from @milfordcollector (sorry don't know the transporters in between) and headed home with my new baby. Rain was torrential at this point and because of huge truck in front of me and exit sign down (from plows) missed our turn and added an extra 30 minutes to our trip. Here she is right out of the carrier upon arriving home.
In this past year, she has gained a new name Olive aka Ollie, 4 lbs, a brother, 2 sisters, mom and dad bean and a grandpa. She has been put through many test in her first month here including dental few months later. Besides diabetes, we found out she has an abdominal mass, HCM, Acromegaly and chronic p'titis. She loves food, showing her belly and the loudest purr. Occasionally plays, on very rare occasions will have a short zoomie period then deep sleep for next couple of hours. She puts up with meds, pokies, shots, mom constantly disturbing her sleep if she's to quiet. She remains a great traveler and goes visiting to grandpa and sometimes she has to come with me on my appts or shopping. Of course she is in style being in a pet stroller, she gets many oohs and ahs, and sometimes shocks people when they realise she's a cat. We educate others when we can. Just yesterday a woman in Wegmans put the dry food back on the shelf and got a case of FF pate. It all came about when she told me dry food was cheaper and easier than all the cans I had in my basket. So I told her why dry food was not an option for me. We talked quite a bit. Then the same thing happened in PetSmart after that, when a lady told me FF was lousy food and I should but quality brands.
Anywho, here she is today, comfortable, happy, I hope feeling better. Could stand to lose a bit, but so could I.
Everyone have a good day.
