As you shot 8.5 this morning and you are able to monitor this evening and at the weekend it would make sense to me to stick with the increase and shoot 8.5u.

I won't be able to stay with you through this cycle unfortunately, and coach you should the numbers drop. We can try and see if we can find someone to help, with all our US friends coming on line we will probably be able to find someone to stay with you.
 
I've asked a couple of ladies to look in on you if they have a chance, just so you don't get lonely.

That's very considerate of him.

I haven't followed Wally closely, he's on quite a high dose, do we know why? What's the theory? I know that testing for Acro is only done in UK.
 
We dont Know the reason of the resistence yet... My vet suggested gf1 hormone test that would be some sort of acro test...

Could be hypertyroidism also? .... this is just my fantasy but should be tested....i noticed some dry skin and increased activity on night and often high heart beat rate

the tests we did so far have not indicated any cause of the diabete nor the high dose condition

I had a cat with hyperthyroidism. I don't think high sugars is a symptom of that. Tanner's numbers were always in the 50's.

Did you check for high blood pressure?

Today I was out for work, and wasnt able to be back for lunch as usual!

I will get the +2 measurements in about 20 minutes. +1 was 125!

I am trying to increase the least possible.... we are almost close to 10u!!!! Scary... :eek:
 
Did you get some Red Bull for you and some Higher Carb Wet for Wally just in case?
I finally found some 17% Carb Wet for Bear, instead of giving him kibble for a low event.

Ouch, yes I understand!
With Wally having a high dose condition like Wendy's cat Neko it is difficult and scary.
Try to keep a good perspective, Wally has improved and I have read on the forum of cats dosed at 15u and above.
If you can keep increasing as Wally needs them Wally has a better chance of not getting Insulin Resistance which requires larger and larger increases to break free from the Insulin Resistance.
I hope that makes sense.

He is quite regular, I tend to note it on my XLS

He is eating only low carb 1.6% wet food and the following is the amount given during the day

AM: 110gr, 30gr@+6, PM: 110gr, 15gr@+3, 15gr@+8 timed

This evening he was clearly more hungry than usual... I used a timed feeder today when i was out at +6

He wants some more food now!!! Meowing and jumping around like a crazy!

He also gets a bit of dried chichen every time we get a measurement
 
Oh Gee Wally! ( does anyone else hear Beaver Cleaver?) Grab another test in 20 minutes to see if he has come up.

He is on a mission tonight! This could be the night that he earns a reduction!

As for the dose change, I don't know. I think it's the 8U depot talking with a little influence of the increase from this morning.

I think it's the 8 talking too. Only 1 dose of 8.5. That is why I didn't want him to feed again and see if Wally keeps his head above water or not and not to prevent a possible reduction as he's been on the 8 u for 14 cycle and tonight is 15. Fingers crossed.

I need to start my dinner. Will you be around for the next reading?
