Good morning all!
Lou had a rather lackluster day yesterday. He finally made it just in time to dip a toe into the lagoon during the AM cycle, but then hung out on the beach the rest of the night. He was eating like he was bouncing last night, so maybe it's from the rather big drop he made during the day. This morning he's eating more like he's going to have an active cycle, so I hope he was just bouncing to the blues instead of yellows or pinks. Who knows with this kid though. As I always say, a girl can hope. :D

Lou's always been a grazer. Things changed when he got the diabetes: he started scarfing his food down. I eventually noticed that he'd scarf his food when he was in high numbers and he'd graze when his numbers were in normal range. So now that he's on a depot insulin, his eating habits have started to reflect his cycles. I can tell when he's going to bounce, regardless of his BGs, because he'll either scarf all his food or at least eat it all in one sitting. The same applies when either his numbers start high or if he's been surfing greens, if he's leaving food after each meal (grazing), it's likely going to be an active cycle. It doesn't always work, but it's nice to have some inclination of where a cycle is going to go before we get there. :cool:

Do you find he get's ravenous when he starts to drop steeply?
My experience with George was quite similar. But him being ravenous, was usually an indicator of him dropping quick, or rising quick. When he had flat cycles in the greens his appy subsided significantly.

You know I've never really put two and two together, but yes! He'll have a day of grazing and then he'll act like he hasn't eaten since last year. The same if he's shooting up into a bounce. So yes, our boys have more in common then their dashing good looks! :joyful:

This describes Bailey. When she starts demanding food, I check to see if she is dropping quickly. Unfortunately, she is not consistent so she has slept through some steep drops and surprised me when I do her regular test.
