Hi it looked like Moo was going to take a dive today and I fed him Indoor mature pate by blue basics helathy gourmet 11% carb- I had to leave at =4/45min now I'm home and now PMPS 321- He was defintiely going to hit the lows today- I think I should skip tonight- but not sure

I would continue with the drop dose but it depends on your ability to monitor. 321 is pretty high. The lowest I see today is 111 and that was with something barely above low carb. You may find that feeding the slightly higher carb is what you need to do to keep giving insulin.

Yes, first meal was 7% and at +3 11 % was given I'll give him the shot and monitor Thanks!

I agree with Wendy- you may have to feed the higher food to keep him on insulin. As long as you can monitor, I see no reason to not give the shot.

THANK YOU for responding in the pinch. I gave him the shot

Hi Cristina, sorry I didn't see your post or pm until now.
I'm glad to see you got responses from some of the most experienced people on the board.
I'll stick around and see what his +2 looks like :cat:
ETA, were you able to pick up any HC food yet? , just curious

I got one with gravy 28% figure i'll try to mix with food. I was at petco trying to get more 11% and I totally forgot to get the science diet. I'm so stressed these days that I'm getting forgetful. +2 196

No worries, I PMd you and majandra because I ws afraid no one would respond to my post and you guys have been on top of my food woes
ETA so grateful, got immediate response from wendi and others.

Okay, 192 is a pretty big drop from PMPS so my recommendation is to go ahead and feed Moo a couple of teaspoons of that 11% to slow him down.
You should definitely test him again in an hour to see how he's doing.
Can you feed him, set and set an alarm for an hour to get a little "cat nap" in between +2 and +3?

Okay, looks like the 11% slowed him down for sure. I would experiment with not giving him any food between now and the next test to see what happens

Yes, no food since then. +4 255. I'm very happy with this considering that he has been in 300s in the PM cycles. This seems to be more stabilized even though it's not optimal. I'll take it!

I'm happy with that! He's been in the 300s at +3 in the PM cycle. I'm hoping this is the stable carb%for him. I
It seems like the depot had time to fill up and your starting to see some action.
Now the trick going forward, as you know will be to experiment to find the right carb % that keeps Moo from going too low on just his one drop dose.
I'm pretty sure Moo will be good for the night. (thanks for filling in the SS!)
However, because I'm always on the diligent side, and curious, I'd sleep for a couple of hours and get a +6

I'm going to stick with the 11% tomorrow's shot- just because I want to see what it does. This morning he got 7% and when I saw the numbers dropping I busted out the 11% at +3. I want to see what happens when he receives 11% from the get go. (He has lower numbers during the day)

That's EXACTLY what I was thinking!!!
