Ok so fell asleep after last night's test of 54 despite the alarms. It could have been a problem except she was tucked in behind my knees and against back of couch so I would have felt any movement from her. Thank goodness.

It seems she bounces to a yellow if she hits the 50's. That's a good little tidbit to know. So she's starting to accept 60's - 90's as normal.

How I saw that this morning being sleep deprived and no caffeine yet, I don't know.

We got about 5" snow last night and warning just popped up for wind chill of 15-30 below zero until tomorrow night. Feel really bad for any strays out there.

Ok missy I hear you loud and clear, reducie tonight it is.

I wish I could give her ear a break or at least if she would allow the other ear to be tested would help. She won't and it doesn't bleed well if at all. It's rare when I can get her right ear.

20 below ZERO last night & it's still 20 below today :eek: The worst is the wind blowing, I went out to feed the birds,not one creature outside! I don't know how they survive temps like this?

I am in the same boat/ snow mobile as you. Exactly my description of Nelli issue :oops:
This is why she is getting a poke break til PMPS :cat: :bighug:

@Wendy&Neko need your wonderful insight here. I haven't been doing the .5 reductions only cuz I think the rapid decline before caused the p'titis which I don't know if it possible. Anywho, do you think the .25 reductions and boosting for a few days is doing any harm? Tonight I'm reducing to 7.25. Which by Friday when I go to work it should start taking over. She seems to be doing well on all fronts and like anyone, don't want to backslide. Or should I now do the 3 times under 60? The 50 isn't my comfort zone, I like the 70 but she always passed that when I catch it. Do I just keep doing what I'm doing?

If it’s working, I would stick to what you are doing. I wasn’t a fan of waiting for multiple drops. When acros need less insulin, they are pretty certain about it, and I always worry about an overfull large depot. However, do keep an eye on her, at some point she may decide 0.5 units are better reductions and you will have that overfull depot issue again.

I will see where she's at tonight. If she doesn't bounce from today's 60 and PS is a low blue I might go .5.
 
I hope Olive will like the reducie.

Are there other animals in the barn? Maybe Barney hangs out with the cow or the horse. Maybe the farmer takes him in in this weather.

Yes to other animals. It's a working dairy/beef farm. Cows, pigs, cats allowed to run and breed, haven't seen the dog lately, she is getting very old and arthritic, deaf now. There is a pair of swans that nest in the barn. None go in the house. People always dumping kittens and cats. In these sub zero temps he does run some kind of heat source in the barn.
