Body location for insulin

Anyone notice a difference in how their kitty reacts to their injections when given in different areas?
For example, I’ve noticed when I inject into the Scruff area his BG # will be higher 12 hrs later versus when I inject in the side/stomach fur area.
I know for a fact the insulin is going in when I use the scruff area.

I noticed this exact thing. I moved to the side of the chest and got much better readings. I've read the speculation that the scruff is thicker skin, affecting the depot? Not really sure, but my motto is go with what works

I moved away from the scruff years ago, too close to the spine on a tiny cat. There is science that insulin absorbs quicker when shot into muscle but knowing where to shoot is another matter. Because I'd been doing it with two cats for five years I have nothing to compare my numbers to.

98% of the time I use the side of body or underbelly, but the few times I’ve used the scruff ( like last night ) I always notice a difference

Wow this is so interesting! I have been doing the side of the chest/shoulder/scruff sorta area, and as caninsulin is already a fast acting one I might just keep it up around there to stop it from being crazy fast if I used her abdomen! Fascinating!
