It’s not going very well lately! After the hypo and dose reduction a couple of days ago we are having high BG values throughout whole days..my poor little rascal, he’s not feeling that great, been sleeping most of the time. So, 1.5 units send him to hypo and 1.25 is not enough?

Paul is correct. You might want to try feeding some mini meals earlier in the cycle, to slow the drops. Big drops can also cause bounces. When you got that low number on the PM cycle of the 22nd, there were no tests before that +5. If you feed snacks earlier in the cycle, you can slow the drop (less bounces) and perhaps prevent him from dive bombing to low numbers. This is called Manipulating the Curve with food.

Yes, he is dropping a lot - that was our number one reason to switch from Caninsulin - it was common for Bacardi to drop from blacks to greens and back in one cycle. On Lantus we fortunately haven’t seen much black (which is good), but that one major drop showed me that it may be Bacardi’s thing and not insulin type. So good idea with the feeding pattern change - next time we increase the dose I’ll focus on that. Bacardi is going to love being fed more often, he just loves to eat

Yes, there are cats who do this regardless of insulin type. My guy is like that from time to time.

Thanks! It took Teasel and I over three years to get where we are though and some significant bumps happened along the way.
