Good morning!
AMPS 130 shooting 2.5F

Boomer ate most of his overnight fuds, all by himself, leaving just a tiny bit of one serving.

Yesterday it was too cold to go wandering around outside so I had a productive day around here, giving our spare room (used to be civil Allen's bedroom) a thorough cleaning and also tidying my side of our walk-in closet (DH has already done his side), among other things. Then in the afternoon I sat down to read and promptly fell asleep lol

Today on the agenda.....more indoor stuff as we're still in a deep freeze here. Tonight is the super blood wolf moon and I hope I remember that tonight at bedtime  and I hope it's clear so that I can see it! This morning I happened to look out our front window and the moon was in an unusual spot and it was large! I got my camera and was able to photograph it from our front porch; I only wish I could have shot it on the horizon but that's not going to happen where I live. I'll post pictures later (if they turned out)

DH's radiation CT scan was finally booked; we were getting extremely anxious because radiation is supposed to start in about 2 weeks. CT is Tuesday morning at 8:15 and they told him to expect to be there at least 2 hours. Boomer's shot is at 7:00 so I imagine I will be feeding him higher carb that morning though, if I need to, I can come home once DH gets called in.

Judy, my radiation planning session lasted about that long too. The docimetrist has to have exact measurements so the the radiation beam will only hit the exact spot. For me, this session involved being placed on the hard surface in the position that I would be placed for the real radiation and being moved inside and back out of the scan machine as they took images, measurements, etc. It's a tedious process but absolutely necessary.

Good morning Judy! I'm so glad they're finally getting to the treating part of this journey for DH! It feels like it's been forever since you both got the diagnosis. Boo to being stuck inside, but it's awesome that you were able to use that time to your advantage! Naps are wonderful things! :D I was so excited when I heard about the super blood moon, but I think it's going to be too cloudy here for me to see much of anything. Such a bummer! I hope you all have a wonderful day! Stay warm! :joyful:

Yes, that is what I'm understanding too. And if the beam hits non cancerous spots that is apparently what causes the adverse reactions so we obviously want them to be as precise as possible.

Boomer's SS looks Great! It seems he doesn't drop real low anymore? That's a GOOD thing :)

Sending Healing thoughts to DH Hope everything goes well for him.

It's 4 degrees here, but nice & Sunny! Right now the sky is clear, maybe I'll get a look at the moon tonight!

Stay Warm :):bighug:

Same here...the snow stopped and it's bright and sunny with beautiful blue skies. Too bad it's still so darn cold out!

When my mom went through radiation many years ago, they put little green tattoos in the exact spots where the radiation beam was supposed to hit. Ironically, they look pretty much exactly like the green lines that our low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic now puts on cats and dogs' bellies to show that they are spayed. ...and, in case you're wondering, my mom did not find this little piece of information particularly funny.

ETA: The clinic opened many years after her treatment - but she is apparently still a little bitter about those tattoos.

Productive and a nap--I'm impressed! And, Boomer, I'm impressed with you today, too!

My mom is having radiation soon. I'll have to tell her about this--I think she'd like it more to know its like cats' and dogs' bellies!

PMPS 155 shooting 2.5u While adjusting to the 2.5F dose I accidentally shot out too much. Then thought...well considering we will be away for most of Tuesday morning it might not be a bad idea to give him slightly less juice. So I shot the 2.5u

Yes the tattoos have already been mentioned and DH is aware.

Are the tattoos permanent? Good luck with your DH's treatment!

Yes, the tattoos are permanent. They are about the size of a pencil point. I got 3 of them for my radiation therapy. They are not on the spots where they aim the beam: they are for placement of your body only, so that you are always in the same position on the machine. Sending lots of vines for a successful treatment! During the actual radiation they will certainly do some marking with a magic marker.

It's still snowing here, but we're going out to see if we can see the eclipse later this evening.

Boomer: back to green, please. Enjoy the Full Wolf Moon party.
