Don't know what's going on with China, but yesterday her appetite was really off, and today she's hardly eaten anything.

And she spent most of the day laying next to the water bowl.

No other real symptoms …..other than she just isn't China. It's obvious she doesn't feel good, but I don't know why.....and of course this has to happen on the weekend...and right before Christmas.

Mama is worried...and that PMPS doesn't help at all.

Does she seem nauseous? Licking lips, going to food bowl and turning away? Hanging out near the water bowl can also be a sign of nausea. Timing isn't great for seeing a vet of course. Do you have Cerenia or ondansetron on hand? How are her LB habits? Any chance she's constipated? Raw diets with bone vs egg shell calcium can be more constipating. I think in spite of your signature you aren't feeding Radcat now?

Sending tons of get better vines. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Oh no, Chris! I am so sorry to hear that miss China isn't feeling well! I was wondering about constipation too. Our Ben just went through that, but once he got a big BM out, he was back to normal.

Sending lots of vines!!

I hope China is ok- keep us posted. I'll be watching to see how she is doing.
How are you doing Chris?

Does she seem nauseous?

No...she just doesn't seem interested in eating anything at all. No lip licking....she won't even look at her food!

Do you have Cerenia or ondansetron on hand?

Yes, I do....I have both but I'm not sure she's nauseous....but I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

How are her LB habits? Any chance she's constipated?

I haven't noticed any change, but in a multi-cat household, that's not easy. I'll keep a closer eye on it. I hadn't thought about the diet change possibly causing constipation! (I need to change my signature)

Wow, Chris, it seems like you've been feeling poorly for quite some time now. And now China has followed suit. Oh, boy...can you both see a doctor, or go to one of the med express places? I'm not sure how you are making it. I'm concerned for you both. Please take care.

Chris, I hope that tomorrow everything will be back to normal: LagoonMeisterin China will be supervising the lagoon and you will feel all better. Try to get a good night's sleep. China will be OK and so will you.
Lots of :bighug::bighug::bighug:s and scritches,

Oh dear, I hate to hear that our sweet China isn't her usual happy, green self. When you've given them in the past, which seemed to help her more - Ondansetron or Cerenia? That would be the one I would give her now. If she doesn't eat tomorrow, can you get her to a vet by at least Monday?

Sending healing vines for China and some for you, too. :bighug:

Was hoping you felt a little better at least :(
Can you take some tylenol and drink some herbal/fruit tea to help you feel better?

If she doesn't eat tomorrow, can you get her to a vet by at least Monday?

Her vet is only open until noon on Monday since it's Christmas Eve.....Hoping I can get her in (If I need to!) The only other option is the vet school in Columbia that's open 24/7/365 but you're looking at $500 just to walk in the door.

She did eat a little for me just now.....about 1.25 ounces of Fancy Feast....but at least she ate!

She hasn't eaten any of the Darwin's today at all

Healing energies to both of you Chris. I hope you get to feeling better soon Please take good care of yourself too, while you are caring for China. Loving, warm hugs to Miss China, I sure hope all will be well very soon.

Sending prayers to you both, Chris :bighug: Do take good care of yourself :bighug: Prayers for Miss China to regain her appy by tomorrow AM

I did feel better yesterday....but I guess I wasn't quite as "over it" as I thought I was.

I can't take aspirin or ibuprofen (they make my stomach bleed) and I have to be careful with Tylenol because my liver doesn't like it much so I'm pushing as much fluid as I can and just waiting it out for now.

Did you test for ketones? Hanging out near the water bowl was the first clue something was wrong with Tigger when he had DKA. That and he'd just lay there like a pancake, barely cat shaped at all. Would barely eat.

AMPS 239 :(

She ate a little FF for breakfast, but there's obviously still something very wrong. Going to call a little later and see if there's ANY chance I can get her seen somewhere today (without going to the vet school that I can't afford)
I hope you can get China in to see her vet today! :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sorry to hear China isn't feeling well. Ravan's been sick all night not eating, vomiting.
Bg went to 39 at +7 gave honey
It's Sunday & Christmas weekend Nothing I can do till after Christmas.

I hope you can get China in to see her vet today!

Me too but I'm not hopeful....last time I called "after hours", they weren't there.....they had another vet seeing patients for emergencies, but when I called that place, I wasn't filled with confidence at their advice.

There's a place not too far from here that I might try, but again, it's Sunday and it'll depend on if they'll answer their phone and be willing to come in on an emergency basis....and of course they'll add an "afte hours/emergency" charge (at the end of the month and with Christmas, extra bills are something I don't need and can't really afford):(

Have to wait and see….it's too early to call right now.

:bighug:
I really hope you can find a good and decent priced vet today.
China- just cause your mom is sick doesn't mean you need to be too!

Feel better you two

Hope you can get China in somewhere today and it’s something minor! Scooter had the same symptoms a while back and the vet said it was just a minor infection somewhere. A couple days on AB and he was back to his usual. Can you take her temp?
I hope you’re feeling better today!
:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: And healing vines to both of you.

Chris --

Is China eating the FF only? If so, stick with that. Given that Darwin's in raw, there's a chance you have a bad batch. Your nose may not recognize a problem but China's may. They had a recall last spring with their dog food. Also, it's possible that it was defrosted and refrozen in transit.

Any changes in the litter box?

I'd try some poached chicken and see if she's interested in something that's easy on the tummy.

Is China eating the FF only?

Yes, the last time she had any of the Darwin's was Friday and she only ate a little. Since then she's had FF and a little Friskies only.

Also, it's possible that it was defrosted and refrozen in transit.

No chance of that....it was frozen solid when it got here....the dry ice was even still there! (it's supposed to evaporate but there were still chunks of it)….it was so cold I got freezer burned by it putting it away

Any changes in the litter box?

Not that I've caught, but with multiple cats, it's hard to know for sure. But it's possibly she's constipated from the bone in the Darwin's so hopefully taking her off it will get things moving.
