Day 2!

No more driving, and Rhubarb says she is just fine with that. She purred all night! I woke up at 8 panicking that it was 10. Frantically turned on light and chased still purring Rhubarb around the bed trying to get her to hold still, grab the phone to put in the number, and it was exactly the time it should be! Poor DH was a little confused too lol.

Rhubarb has me a little worried- she keeps meowing at the litter box. The only thing I didn't bring was miralax. Ugh. Hope that's the only problem.

Has anyone here ever fed venison, raw fresh caught lake fish, or feeder goldfish?

Nice start to day two. :D

Neko ate raw venison, but it was raw food. I did know one member who got some fresh from her hunter brother and her diabetic cat ate it fine. Neko had raw salmon and tuna (sashimi), but not lake trout. Sounds like you are out in the country. :)
 
I think I would want to cook the fish for my own sanity (I won't swim in the lake it comes out of lol) but the venison is frozen so should be bacteria free
 
Rhubarb has been acting quite unsettled compared to usual in new places- checked bg, 50@+5

How long before there is no depot left?

Getting lots of visiting done- her pmbg may be late tonight.
Found a brand of cat food I haven't seen before- Boreal. Canadian made and sold by a local business. Supposedly really low carb, so hopefully it is :)

I checked on the Boreal quite some time ago and it didn't have Taurine in it but I seem to remember seeing something about it possibly having been added since. Check the ingredients. The carb level was fine...it was the taurine missing that meant it wasn't a choice for regular feeding.

Are you sure part of any strange behaviour isn't just being in a strange environment? Maybe she doesn't like where the litter box is situated? It may take her a bit to feel comfortable or maybe she does need her miralax.
 
They have added the taurine to it now.

I think it may actually just be the weirdness of everything. She is extra cuddly and purry. She has never been without the other cats too. I did give some miralax just in case- can't hurt.
 
Day 2!!!!

I just started feeding Bubba cod fish , but cooked as per my homeopath as raw fish can have parasites. I poach it, let it cool and use some of the poaching water to add to it along with my EZ Complete supplements to make it a complete protein for a kitty. Fish all by itself is not complete for kitties. If you are going to just feed occasionally as a snack of fish, then it's fine to be without the supplements. I am going to be feeding it every 3 days in rotation with 2 other proteins so I need to add the EZ Complete to the fish.
