12/20 Rhubarb +23 119 AMPS=103 +3 50 +4 67 +10 56 PMBG=68 +15 72

I'd try a drop. I think the trip to the unspoken R thing can can a few ups and downs. ;)
Thanks!
I slept through alarm, so I am going to hold off shot for as long as I can before leaving for our appointment- then we will be home for +2 or +2.5.

Poor DH may have jinxed it. He said last night jokingly that she's cured!
She did pretty good though!
At this stage of the game, do I still try to do consistent 12hr dosing?
Do I have to worry about hypo from the depot? Last night I'd left out extra lc cause she seemed ravenous right before bed and the other cats likely had eaten some of hers. I had checked her and she was still 3.2, but thought it best to leave some out.

Yes, as long as you give insulin you should try to shoot 12 hours apart. As long as you are giving insulin, you have to be careful about a hypo.

Would have been interesting to test three hour later, without insulin, and see where she was. I take it she didn’t get a late cycle snack, or no way to know if she did. The testing three hours later would have told you how much the pancreas is working. And is part of the trial instructions. Next time you want to start a trial, we can post the instructions for you. The odd blue during a trial is OK, as long as it comes down on it’s own.

Work it Rhubarb!

She did eat some of the late cycle snack I had out, and there was still food left in the regular dish too.
I wasn't exactly planning on the trial just yet due to the holidays likely stressing her some.

It was a deja vu looking at Rhubarb's SS. Almost similar to Rex's where they snapped and went into greens most of the time. Be glad you don't have that many lime greens! :joyful::facepalm:

How exciting a trial is being mentioned now! :D:D

Before thinking of a pure otj trial, would it be beneficial to use alphatrak or similar reading meter to see what the numbers actually are?

I can attest to the fact that the Freestyle Lite meter reads low at lower range numbers when compared to the pet meter, but the biggest difference is when you get lime green on the Freestyle. When Menace started having a sea of green numbers, I got a 23 on the Freestyle one day. Trying not to freak out because HRH was just chilling, I grabbed my AT2 meter to double check before feeding her sugar donuts. The AT2 reading while not the same drop of blood was barely below warning (65 vs. warning 68) so she got LC instead of a sugary treat!
As long as you are getting greens and low blues you don't need to invest in another meter that is going to cost you approx. $2.00 per BG reading to know when she is ready to go cold turkey. Been there, done that. Won't make a difference. :D

Shoot low will let you know what she thinks of this dose. Skip will let you sleep. We also say that if you end up skipping a lot, you should lower the dose. ;) Your call.

How long would stress affect sugars? Tomorrow will be a driving day, and I expect she will stress at first but calm down and sleep.

ECID. I saw one cat on an OTJ trial go red during a drive, and bring it down to green overnight on his own. Neko liked to do the opposite. I had a couple long drives with her where I had to feed HC. I also had a civvie go about 220 at the vet, and down to 53 the next day.

68@pmps, so no shot
I get to sleep tonight!!
And Rhubarb doesn't get poked and prodded for another 12 hours, which I'm sure she won't mind.
