Hi Everyone!
My name is Dena. My 12 year old kitty, Cosmo, was diagnosed with diabetes in August. It was overwhelming when he first got diagnosed. My vet wanted me to do SO much stuff and spend SO much money. I tried everything the vet suggested and poor Cosmo was overwhelmed as well.
I've been free feeding him dry kibble his whole life so the first thing we had to do was get him on a feeding schedule which I did. Now that I have done further research I understand it might be possible to get him off his insulin with the proper wet food. I'm so excited!!!
Going to pop over into the Feline Health section because I have some questions on home glucose testing that my vet just doesn't want to talk to me about.
I look forward to getting to know everyone here.
