Who is shopping today? You couldn't pay me to go out into the mad house of black Friday :D If you are shopping I wish you many good deals

I have laundry to do and a couple of movies to watch. I hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving:bighug:

I’m with you, Lizzie :woot: Amazon has ruined me for brick and mortar shopping for sure :) Use to do Black Friday just for the rush but no more

I can handle Pet Supplies Plus and PetSmart on Black Friday. Neither one of them has crazy crowds and they don't open until 7 am (which leaves me just enough time to get everything I want and come back home in time for Walter's 8 am shot time).

Just looking at the parking lots for Kohl's and Target though was scary. You couldn't pay me to stand in line there.

Lot of stores have closed down out here so it makes it even more crowded in the one's still open

I think everyone will shop online in the future

Hope your day goes well! :)

I headed out to the fabric store today. Not just once, but twice. o_O

I do buy some fabric online, but others I need to see and touch to get an idea of how they will coordinate. Today Christmas prints were 70% off, so I restocked my project supply. While I was there, I was tempted by a "doorbuster" deal, but wasn't sure, so I went home to do research and sure enough, it was a good deal in my opinion so I went back and purchased it (because the price was only valid for today). Hope anyone else who ventured out found some good bargains!

We have a small, quaint downtown "old town" that has all the old houses (from late 1800's-early 1900's) converted into small, specialty shops. I will go for small business day (tomorrow). I find all kinds of neat things there. I do it just so they stay in business (not that I alone make that much difference). They have festivals and such there throughout the year too that are fun.

Oooo, do tell! I am happy you got a deal! That is cool when one drops into your lap.

Hey Lizzie, I hope the dose increase helps. Glad the ketones are negative.

Shopping, no way......I needed Relion strips and I asked DH to go and he is there now.

I am with you on supporting the local small stores. I do much better in them too for finding unique things and also there isn't as much stimuli to make my head spin.

What movies are you going to watch? I need a good movie. Don't get to watch a lot as hubby hogs the set in the family room and I don't want to be sequestered in the LR all by myself. ( it's to far from the kitchen, LOL )

I saw the ad for cotton batting such as would be used in quilts in the online store promotion. I wasn't sure - while batting is always something you need and can use, I wanted to feel it to make sure it wasn't too "cheap". It felt OK, but I went home to look for other prices and reviews. Based on what I found, this was a good price. I saw no real negative reviews, so I thought I should try it. I won't know for sure until I work with it, but it works out to $4 / yd so I couldn't resist. The big problem now is where to store the gigantic roll.

I started sewing again this year when I had the occasion to make a baby quilt for my niece. Today I picked up some Christmas prints on mega sale primarily to make Holiday table runners. Cute baby prints and holiday prints make me happy. I'm addicted now. I always knew there were crazy cat ladies, but it turns out there are also crazy quilt ladies too! I'm double trouble! :joyful:

Finally got the new bag of YA just before setting his feeder up for tonight's cycle so he will get it vs. 5% food @ +6.5 so hopefully that will help. The new Weruva he has decided he likes is low calorie and since I was concerned about the old YA I was feeding more wet. I am sure it is contributing some to the higher numbers. I hope he eats the YA. I rely on it for getting calories needed into him.

I hope he can find some :nailbiting:

What movies are you going to watch?
Well, one that hubby wanted to watch (The Giver) didn't download/record correctly so we didn't watch that one, then I watched a stupid movie (Trust) and I gave up. I did record The 15:17 to Paris and am planning to watch it. Directv has "free preview" of the premium channels this weekend but nothing looks too exciting.

I know what you mean. Plus if it is cheap it doesn't hold together and that is a big risk to take with a homemade quilt!

I used to sew. I guess I still do but haven't in a while. My mom was a gifted seamstress. She made wedding dresses, my prom dress. My dad's dress shirts. Once she took apart my Levi jean jacket so she could copy the pattern and reduce the size down for my 2yo nephew, then she sewed it back together and you couldn't even tell. My nephews jacket was identical.

I forgot about that movie! Yes, I want to watch that one!

DH got the Primes. They are supposedly not one of the ones that are being discontinued. But, I think I should stock up just in case or switch to my mom's meter which is a Freestyle and I have a lot of strips on hand thanks to my Daddy's long service in the Marines ( 30 years) and my mom gets her meds mail order through Express Scripts and we pay a very low amount for generic drugs for a 3 month supply and a bit more ( but still very nominal) for a brand name.

Thanks Daddy for your service to our country and the benefits you leave behind.

Well, throw on a robe and head over here around 5:30a and we will have coffee and watch it together! :p

I really wanted to binge the Outlander series but knew I would catch grief for it:rolleyes:. I may just have to buy the Showtime package from Amazon for a couple of months so I can watch them. I wish the books weren't so long (most average 20-24 hours). I have listened to the first 4 and have at least another 3-4 purchased but haven't listened to them yet.

Yes. Thank you for your service Dad. :bighug:

It's on Starz. You need to binge watch it! It is so good!!! But, I have to tell you, there is a lot of gore in the battle scenes. I couldn't watch it and would go to bed and have DH fill me in on the story line without the gore. ( I'm a Disney and Romantic comedy kind of gal)

And that said about the gore, there is a lot of sex scenes too which in my mind counter balance the gore. I don't have to go to bed during those scenes, LOL ;)
