Wow, that was a nice drop!
Looks like he was falling all last night. I don't use levemir, but I know it's a late nadir insulin.

Are you stalling?

Maybe put the question mark in your title and put the "Stalling. Need help" in there too to get the more experienced folks eyes on you?

Cindy, next time you are stalling, I'd try to stay away from the higher carb food if at all possible or at least limit the amount. I know he can drop like a stone and the inclination is to get him up ASAP but when he pulls these stunts right at shot time with Levemir, he's likely at nadir which means he's likely to start back up on his own anyway and with Levemir not clicking in until later in the cycle, you can shoot lower pre-shot numbers. I sometimes did 2 extended cycles with Menace instead of letting her BG soar into space waiting for our next normal shot time. So here's the big question....what number are u comfortable shooting? ;)

At 10:30 am,BG 67 he got 2 teaspoons of 13 carb and 1 hour later BG was73. What is 2 extended cycles?
I would have shot at an 80. But he drives me crazy because he doesnt come up on his own, it's like once he starts dropping he keeps dropping. Look at 10/17 & 10/22, and that was with help :(

Extended cycles just means that you shoot later and then make the next cycle longer too so you get back to your original shot time or move to a newly chosen shot time. The trick is to time it such that you aren't shooting at some ridiculous time in the middle of the night. I sometimes did 14/16 or 16/16 or 18/18 for example depending on the times and of course her numbers. Sometimes I had to do it to reset my schedule to accommodate a little R& R or a committment for me. It wasn't always about her numbers. I found this helped keep me sane because it kept her pre-shots from going through the roof with a full 12 hours without insulin. If you only stall a couple of hours it's easy to back up but if you wait 3 or more, it gets harder to do so.

So, he's at 81 and hasnt eaten since 10:30, it's almost 1, can I shoot now, and then when would I shoot again? 1am?

Can you help me with my times of shots to get back on track please :) Like a schedule ? I'm lost :(

You could work back 3 hours if you are ok doing so (I always had trouble working back more than forward) but he is also just at your low shot number so you could let him rise a bit more before shooting. With those numbers this morning he earned a reduction based on SLGS. Under these circumstances, how early would you be willing/ able to shoot tomorrow morning? For example..... You could shoot at 3:30pm this afternoon and then shoot earlier tomorrow morning around 09:30am (17/18 hour cycles) and then you are only 1 hour out which you can do easily with no impact to BG levels. As long as your cycles are 12 hours or more, it really doesn't matter what times you pick or if the cycles are the same length. It keeps the insulin in his system a bit more stable than going 24 hours without. If skipping it easier, that's Ok too.

ETA: SORRY for delay. I was playing with times and eating lunch!

I already shot, I went with a 2.50 instead of 2.75. So I shot at 1:00 pm, that's 3 hours late, so help me out here, please. I want to try and get back on 10a 10p. This time is thing is too confusing for me. Can you just give me a schedule and I will follow it, please? :) I have to go take care of Matt, he just got up, can you work it out for me and maybe have it for this evening ,if you are free? That way you'll have time to work it out. My brain JUST can't do it  Please :joyful::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: with sugar on top ;)

Cindy, if I were you, I'd try to stick to LC when Taco is surfing along in those beautiful higher greens. You might think he's dropping when he goes from 83 to 77 for example but in reality, those numbers are so close together that they are virtually the same. Today's cycle is a thing of beauty and since he got to those safe green levels he has been staying on his surf board without picking fights with the big toothed fish which is exactly what you want him to do! Go Taco! Auntie Linda is proud of you today! :D

OK, I'll try it, :bighug:

Lovely stretch of healing green today. Kept you busy Cindy! But it looks like he really likes the Levemir. :D

Are you planning on going back to 2.75 tomorrow morning? Today was the 3.0 unit depot talking.

No, I do not, he's fine where he is , I will update the SS when I have time, I've been very busy, but , have all his information in a binder that is very detailed. It may take me until tomorrow to update it, but, it will get done. If I determine he needs to go up to 2.75, I will put him there.

Beautiful numbers, Taco! So proud of you and your Nanna Cindy!
His mama, Moriah, has been putting in more time than nana. She's the daughter everyone wishes they had :) I think she loves her Taco more than she loves me ;) He is the very first pet of her own that she got when she was 7, she's going on 20 :bighug: After getting up all night with him for so long, I don't think she'll ever have kids ;) Great birth control :p
