Peak with Lantus

Hi,
Today being my first day giving Lantus to my cat, 1 unit, has been a very scary experience.
He dropped over 200 points within 3 hours and I was so worried that he was going to go into hypoglycemia.
I kept feeding him and watching him, calling Vet and asking for all your GENEROUS help on this site. Everyone here is the BEST!!!
Yoyo's last reading was 110 and I am wondering if this now seems to be more normal and that hopefully he has peaked out. Does this sound correct? Or can the insulin from this mornings dose still bring him down lower?
Anything that you can tell me is appreciated.
Thanks for being there for me today!

Congratulations !!!!

So far the day is looking good with lantus you are probably around his nadir (lowest number in the cycle) you can wait a couple of hours and test again to see if he's still going down some cats have a late nadir right now since this are his first shoots is not easy to say how he reacts to insulin and each cat is different we need to gather some data first slowly we will get to know him

Thanks for being here. Makes me feel not so alone. I am going to take BG levels now. I'll post it.
Any ideas about dosage for tonight or tomorrow?

Hi Debra. Welcome to the board. Please start no more than one condo a day. If you have new questions add the question mark to the subject box. You can also change the subject as often as you want. That way all your info will be in one place and those trying to help with get the full picture.

Hi,
Please explain what a condo is? Do you mean that I shouldn't ask more questions with different titles?
Sorry, but I am confused.

I see Bobbie explained that you have a duplicate thread (condo) put in the subject duplicate- seeother thread as the other one has more posts. We love questions but just want themin one daily thread which we call condo.
