Wowie, we finally hit a green number. I'm a little anxious about it, but DW seems pretty sanguine. We're both home to keep an eye on things, and right now Sherlock and his brother are both having what we've affectionately termed as "first dinner." Appetites are going strong and, as always, Sherlock is trying to horn in on his brother's plate.

Now to check on the slow cooker, for our own dinner plans. If there's on good thing about cold weather setting in, it's that I can pull out the slow cooker and coast on easy, one-pot meals. Tonight is ham and potato soup!

Edit: Womp, we dipped too low. 4.5 hours after his PM dose and we're having a little gravy food. Will retest again shortly, and hope we climb back into safe ranges.

How are you doing? I have been watching the spreadsheet and see you have updated the title with the most recent BG.

We're still a little low, but we're up from my last test. We'll check again here in a few and see where we're at. His second dinner is usually around 45 minutes from now, which is 6 hours post shot. I'm hopeful that by then, or before bed, we're back in a place that's comfy and safe.

He could probably have another tsp of gravy, just to nudge that BG up. I know about second dinner, and second breakfast. We have a couple of Hobbit cats!

We definitely get second dinner and breakfast, little hoovers. We're going to test here again and if we're still low, have that last bit of gravy food. That will hopefully get us to dinner, which might get some syrup mixed in if we're still low.

Congrats on the reducie! Just happened by, thought I'd offer a few suggestions. Karo can wear off quickly, not sure what % carb gravy you've fed, but I'd want to see up above 50 without intervention for 2 hours from the last feeding or use of gravy etc... So, depending on your next number, you may need to set an alarm. Just to be sure that Sherlock is safe, seems he's lingering just under the 50 number, I'd like to see him above 50 ;)

Thank you! We're at 125 now, and his second dinner is upcoming, so we'll test after that and before bed. We've got about... mm. Two hours before bed, give or take, so that should work out, hopefully. If not, I don't mind staying up a while longer. Anything to make sure he's safe and we can all sleep easy.

Ok so that was around your +5 I think. That sound like a good plan, he may be clear of the lows, it is getting later in the cycle now, but I've seen some kitties drop back down. It's the karo I'm not so sure about...I've never used it, but I've seen some here who need to continue monitoring a few hours past use just to be sure the BG levels don't drop.

Sherlock, no bouncing tomorrow, ok?

Amen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed against a bounce!

Thanks for posting the +6, I wanted to check in on you guys before I logged off for the night, make sure everything was good ;), have a good sleep, nice work tonight. Maybe for next time, if you see a downward trend all day, like you did today, I'd check earlier, like a +2, and maybe feed a bit of LC food. Your +3 was getting low enough, I'd have fed LC there tonight, but that's from my own experience with Mav, ECID, you'll get a feel for these types of cycles with Sherlock. Make sure you keep notes of %carb and when, for your future reference. Just some of my thoughts. :)

Thanks! Sherlock usually gets food at +3 on both cycles, so when we checked after his first dinner and he'd dipped again, I got a little panicky. DW was much calmer than I was and kept things on track, and now we're all feeling better. We're going to check again here in a sec because it's bedtime, and then tomorrow we'll reduce his dose back down to 1.5. You have a good night and thank you for hanging in for a while!

I have been checking in, but not commenting. I was destroying a double batch of turkey meatballs in between checks. I am so glad the event is over, and you and DW handled everything so well. Sweet dreams, a restful night and a great day tomorrow.

You're always so kind, I'm grateful you're with us, too. Thank you!

This morning pre-shot, we're back at 354. All good here, and away with Monday we go. I hope you have a good one!
