Impressed with the OnSync Meter

I know many of you were using the Relion Micro or Confirm meters that have now been discontinued. I was in panic mode because I really liked how little blood it required. A friend just happened to see the Kroger OnSync meter and texted me a picture. The price was great and the reviews were decent so I decided to give it a try. I LOVE IT so far!

Here's what I like:

  • Numbers are close to my Relion. I only had 8 test strips left to compare but they were reasonably close on the lower numbers. The higher numbers grew farther apart but given the fact that the FDA allows a 20% error, that didn't surprise me. To be honest, the OnSync is closer to my Relion Confirm than the Relion Prime was. (You can see the number comparisons on my spread sheet).
  • It takes very little blood. I feel like it needs the same amount as the Confirm - which is not much at all.
  • Very easy to use and read.
  • And the best part - the price!! The meter was 9.99. I can buy 100 test strips for 21.99!! (I was paying 36.00 for 100 Relion test strips).
So, if you're looking for an affordable alternative to your discontinued Relion, at this point I would recommend giving this meter a try.

Just hoping it might help someone on a budget (like me) that likes to test often.
I totally understand. I am a fellow testaholic. I'm using the Prime, and I have several hundred strips right now. (got caught running out of strips during a low BG, will not let that happen again) I might look into the OnSync for the future, though, if it uses a smaller drop than the Prime. Feel bad for poor Bailey's ears.

It's what i can afford! :(

Oh, I get it. I looked at those strips many times but didn't want to deal with the large blood drop. I tried my neighbor's prime and the blood requirements were noticeably different. That's why I was so excited with this new meter - blood sample like the Confirm with a price similar to Prime. :)
