Yesterday

Since I forgot about it last night, I remembered to reduce China's dose this morning so down to 1.75 she went! We'll give it the old college try!!

Thank goodness I know her so well though! I forgot that I had to go to Columbia to the pain clinic today so I wasn't real happy about having to leave for almost 6 hours at +4, but good ol' China.....she was fine and screaming at me as I walked in the door! (she missed her lunch and her afternoon snack!!)

So now we wait and see what Miss China has in mind.....Hopefully she'll rock this dose and will start working her way down the dose ladder again!!

Sure would be fantastic if she'd go OTJ again (I know I'm dreaming, but hey, she wasn't ever supposed to do it the first time so why not shoot for the stars??)

China..your mama is awfully tired tonight after her long day of driving....how about you put on one of your all-star surfing demonstrations and stay nice and safe tonight?

I have a question. Ravan is showing me some good #'s but I give a spoon of med carbFF every test to keep him from going lower. Do you do anything with China's food when she goes down to 40's
I didn't see anything in the remarks on your SS I'm wondering now what Ravan's bg would have dropped to if I didn't give him Med carb FF?
I'm also wondering what I should do tonight ? I need some sleep but I don't want to mess up these great #'s

Do you do anything with China's food when she goes down to 40's

I just give her a teaspoon or two of her regular low carb food, but I have over 5 years of data on China and I know exactly how she responds

She's always been very easy because when she drops low, she lets me know by coming and demanding food. If I feed her and she comes back to demand more, I know to test again and either feed her more low carb or give her something higher in carbs, depending on the test results.

I'm wondering now what Ravan's bg would have dropped to if I didn't give him Med carb FF?

The only way to know is to try it and test, test, test.....If he drops into the high 40's, maybe try giving just a little of his regular low carb food and test again in 20-30 minutes. (you have to give the food time to break down and get into the bloodstream....testing every 10 minutes doesn't tell you much)

I used to put what I fed into the "remarks" section, but after so many years, I don't feel the need to anymore. I hardly ever have to feed MC or HC anymore (I actually can't remember the last time I opened a can of anything other than LC) I always have some in the house though, just in case!! Along with several jugs of syrup....just in case!!

As you gather more data on him you'll learn what you need to do to keep him safe. Some cats need the higher carb foods….it's something you won't know until you try it.
