I bet u will be glad to get into your new bldg
Will be glad to be done with this move! Even though we have movers that will do the actual move of equipment/boxes we still have to get everything packed up and organized (including over 900 new computer, over and above the computers on peoples desks). That was what I worked on yesterday all day. Documenting and labeling them all including counts for each room full of computers.

The move is such a hassle. I remember when my office was moving. Besides us admins having to do our own and the general storage rooms most of us had to do the Sr. and Vice President offices because they were to important to do their own. I supported 6 of them and they were rat packs. Anyways I took the easy way out, move got postponed yet again and I resigned before the move.

Just saw this from yesterday

How has he been ? Do you still think he is in pain?

Yes. Still painful. To the point I was in tears this morning and gave him a dose of pain meds. I am not sure if it is his pancreas or stomach (or maybe bladder). He growled/hissed at me when I picked him up to give him his shot this morning. :arghh::(

I am not sure what to do. I sure wish he could talk to me. I don't want him to suffer.

I like the way you think :p

What pain med? Are you giving it on a schedule (might be best for now) or when you think he needs it?
Problem is - he won't eat on pain meds unless I am there to make him eat and even then it is questionable. I did give him Mirtz last night so he has eaten today but slowly but I can only give Mirtz about every 5-6 days otherwise it just makes him agitated and he still won't eat.

We had tried Gaba (GABAPENTIN (C) LD EZ DOSE, 150MG/ML, GEL - dose APPLY 2 CLICKS (0.1ML) TO THE INNER EAR FLAP (PINNA) ONCE DAILY) trans dermal but it didn't seem to be strong enough for what ever is going on with him currently so I switched back to BUTORPHANOL (C), 4MG/ML, SUSPENSION (copied from diamondback website). He gets about 0.05mL/dose. I give it to him after his +4.5 wet food PM cycle (only time I can give it). The dosing instructions say 0.5mL/dose 2-3 times/day - I think that dosing would kill him (not joking).

I would really like to give him the Butorphanol in the PM like I am doing and put the Gaba on him in the morning but I don't know if I can use together or if it would be too much for him (I don't think it would).

Have you tried the gabapentin 2x a day? Or every 8 hrs?

The Butorphanol you are giving .05 ml once a day? Instructions say 0.5 ml 2-3x a day is that correct? Your not giving anything close enough to what instructions say. The info below states it's administered 2-6 times a day. It's addictive and must be tapered off.

Gizmo is maine coon correct? Do he is a big boy. He could possibly need more pain medication.

He is getting it only 1x/day - 2 x's if I am sure he will eat or if I am home to monitor. I am giving 0.05ml/dose (maybe a touch more). Any more than that and he is completely stoned and out of it. Can't hardly walk. He is a light weight like his mama  - he is with any/all pain meds I have tried except for the transdermal Gaba.

He is right at 11#'s right now.

If the gab isn't making him stoned, then what about trying it every 12 hrs or 8 hrs? Instead of the drug that makes him stoned.

You could try it. It would be the same dose daily just spread out. There's room to play with it.

If it helps. Olive weighs 12-13 lbs. She gets gab pill 12.5 mg every 12 hrs crumbled in her food. She can have 25mg every 12 if needed. That was to much for her. When the tumor has an active spurt she gets 12.5 mg every 8 hrs until the spurt calms down.
