Vet called today and explained as he did the other day that he likes to start all insulins on 1 unit in 24 hours until that second appointment. But then he was super curious in how I was getting a BG on Harley. When I told him I was using a home human meter and his ear he seemed shocked, but in an okay way, like that I was actually taking the initiative to test them. So he told me to email him the numbers I already currently have and he will go ahead and just readjust our dosing over the phone / email while we figure out his curve.

That is very nice! Full time student and Full time internship I couldn't afford the $30 appointments every single week just to test BG and then walk out.
 
Awesome on your testing, I see you plan on switching to canned which is great, a lot of us use fancy feast classics as they are low in carbs, the dm is high in carbs

I am leaning towards the fancy feast or B.F.F but I don't know that I can afford that to feed what I am looking at feeding. I have a girl that also has renal disease and was hoping to switch all my cats to the same food if possible. She was put on Hill's K/D awhile ago but I found out that may not be the best for her either if she isn't in stage 4. So I was referred to looking for a food 250 or lower (i believe) in phosphorus. Diet that works for DB and RD is B.F.F but would cost me about $250 a month ordering from Chewy.com. Can be done in the future... but not until I graduate from Uni in May and start my FT job, haha. So I am thinking Fancy Feast for the big beast and B.F.F for my old lady. I could do that for now.
 
P.s ^^^ looking at switching all my cats (4) that would be the cost of B.F.F 1 cat has diabetes, 1 cat has kidney disease, 2 cats are perfectly healthy.
