Good Morning :)
Years ago I lost my job & the next day my TV went out. I couldn't afford to have it fixed.Time went on, I began to read a LOT. 10 years went by & I never missed the TV! ( I didn't own a computer back then either)
I did eventually get a new TV & a computer, but there are days i don't even turn the TV on!
Hope your day is Relaxing! :joyful: :bighug:

Hi Paula

I’m sorry to just get to you on your question about the MA. i’ve been out of town.

The high MA indicates her kidneys are leaking protein into her urine. Quite often, this is an indication of CKD but it can also be due to a UTI. I actually wonder if it’s not the acro. I would suggest you have your vet run a urine protein:creatinine ratio but she’s already on benazepril which is what is usually used for proteinuria. If she does have proteinuria, the benazepril dose might need to be adjusted but you’ll have to coordinate that with the cardiologist or whoever is treating her HCM.

I hope that helps.

Thanks Marje. She is due for cardio, just don't have the funds right now. Just paid off her 1st one and haven't even started paying the dental yet.

You might ask the vet to ask the lab if they still have some urine. The UPC test is pricey so the alternative to having it done or if you can’t afford it right now, is ask your vet if you all should assume she has proteinuria because the MA is high. She might be willing to adjust the benazepril dose if she just talks to the cardiologist on the phone about it.

Will do. Thank you.

She is feeling good today. She isn't staying in the back room. She's been sitting up instead of laying down. She even chased a shoe lace this morning and again tonight.

The first week of cabergoline is complete.
