Hello! :bighug: How are you?

I haven't been to the board lately. We've had hard summer and fall.
I was occupied nursing DH, then I had a major surgery. I've had complications and taking long to heal.
Thankfully Tux's been good. :cat: Tux climbs on me, walking and laying on the surgical incisions.:blackeye:

It's Tux's second OTJ anniversary! :):cat:
I am remembering how much this board has helped us. I'd like to thank you again. :bighug:

walking and laying on the surgical incisions.:blackeye:
OOOOOOOOWWWWwwCCCCHHHHHH - why is it that your furbaby has to step on the most tenderist of parts? Luci is drawn like a magnet to whatever part of me hurts the most - and walks on DH all the time at night - walks this way and then that...we finally had to close the bedroom door with her on the other side because of her wee hour walking episodes...some times she'd sit and purr - but sometimes she'd turn around and give me a bite - as if to say - NO! You're not going to pet me now - I was only here to walk on you...don't touch! No understanding that girl...she has comfy places in the house to sleep...and we'd rather that she didn't walk on us to try to disturb what little sleep we're getting...:) I feel for you...hope the Fall brings you better health in your household. Fingers and paws crossed for you! Sending healing vines and prayers :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Yes, "magnet" to the most painful part! First thing Tux did when I was released from a hospital and resting on the bad was jumping and landing on the incisions with all paws. (My abdomen has 4 incisions). :blackeye: DH separated Tux from me, then Tux peed on DH's pants on the floor.
When the same happened again, Tux pooed in DH's bathroom. DH stepped on it then walked all over the house until he notices. Whole house (carpet and floor) have poo stains. I can't scrub. :arghh: DH can't bend either. Have to wait until I am able to clean. (It may take one more month.)
Since then we are allowing Tux. (We can't win... of course.) Thankfully Tux learned not to jump on my body directly.
Tux thinks he is "healing" me stepping, laying and purring. :cat::blackeye:

Dear @Gill & George and @carfurby, I don't know how to show appreciation.
You've been helping and caring from beginning. We've been so encouraged, and it's always nice to see you here. :bighug::cat:
And George's photo always make me smile.

Congratulations on Tux 2 year OTJ anniversary. It seems like yesterday!

I am sorry to hear that it has been a rough summer and fall for you with DH and then your surgery. I hope you continue to heal as good as new!!

It always amazes me the kitties that stay OTJ as remission is so fragile. Did you keep your feeding schedule the same as you were doing when Tux was on insulin? Obviously you stayed with low carb food. Just wondering if you were feeding small mini meals through the day while on insulin, did you continue to do the same OTJ?

Hi Bobbie! :bighug: Here is another lady who has been helping and caring from the beginning. We so much appreciate you!

Tux was eating small mini meals through the day while on insulin, and he still does.
He still eats the same low carb (around 4%) wet food. Wellness Pates, Dave's Naturally Healthy Grain Free, Sheba Perfect Portions Pates and Weruva Fowl Ball.
They are also lower in Phosphorus.
Tux's BG stays good as long as I am home (so that he wouldn't be board and munch bird food!), and having good BM.
Oh by the way, I quit buying Kefir for they seem go bad after 3 days opening the bottle. Staying with 1/6 tsp of Miralax 2X a day.

Hope Bubba goes back to the Falls and stay. :bighug:

Thanks for responding! It was great to hear from you.

If you can find Lifeway brand, the expiration on it is really far away and you can take it to the expiration date even after opening it. When I first started buying it the shelf life was really short but now I can use almost every last drop of it. I drink it too sometimes. I probably should drink it more for good GI health.

Bobbie, you are welcome, and thank you, I will look for Lifeway Kefir.
I should drink it too after taking antibiotics for 24 days. :)

Hi Kako!
Happy 2years OTJ to our excellent L&LL Sushi Chef. Good job Chef Tux!
I didn’t know that you and DH had a rough summer and hope that now you are enjoying improved health.
Edward and I feel Rusty’s presence all the time, and we know that he is happy at the Bridge. But we sure do miss him here.:cat:
Wishing you, your DH, and your fine kitty another good year of OTJ! Keep in touch.
