Yesterday -

Last night was a fur shot since Pretty Girl moved at just the right/wrong time. I fed her a small meal at +3 and actually woke up to my alarm at +5.5 and fed her again. She seemed good. I slept through my alarm at +8 - it was still ringing when I woke up an hour later.

AMPS quite high but a little less than yesterday. She seemed good today - interactive and affectionate. Not so good after eating.

She ate quite a bit at +1 but so did my other cats. Curve planned for today. Hope I don’t sleep through any of the alarms this morning.

It has been an eventful day so far. :blackeye::eek: Next time I do a curve I will drink wine all day to help me with the stress.

Today seems much different than yesterday. Maybe. At least that's how it seems.

AMPS was 526 - too high for sure. She ate well and I gave her the current dose of 1.5. At +3 (I slept thru the +2 alarm) she was at 321 and ate a small meal. I had to leave the house for a bit. When I came home to test again 2 hours later Pretty Girl did not look very good - like she does when she's gone low and high again. Can that have happened between +3 and +5??? She looked - like I feel when I need to eat - puny, peak-ed, weak and like just can't quite manage. I did the +5 test and then she ate again and clearly felt MUCH better - was interactive, affectionate, stretching, jumped up to her favorite place to sleep and all seemed good.

The +7 test showed 151 and she ate again. Now just 45 minutes later she was up again and looking a bit off. I checked her BG at +7.75 and she is at 576.:eek::eek: Since she is free feed I let her eat again. What is going on???

Today - (this is all in the spreadsheet)
AMPS - 526
+3 - 321
+5 - 327
+7 - 151
+7.75 - 576

At times like this I wonder if I'm doing her any good at all. No wonder she feels like cr@p a lot of the time. I want to cry. :arghh::banghead: Where's the tears icon?

What is going on here?

I had an unexpected day off last Monday and did a curve then - it looks a lot different - but she had only been on the current dose about 4 days.

Cats when they aren't being regulated well do not feel great because their numbers are all over the map. I think you're fine to increase by 0.25u then do another curve next weekend to see how it's working.

It’s okay to change it on the weekday and then go away for 10 hours???

When she goes low might she go too low?

It's more ideal when you increase to be around for monitoring as some cats can have a strong reaction to an increase the first cycle. How about if you increase during a PM cycle when you are home. You would know by the +2 whether it was going to be an active cycle or not.

The dose. Recommended above that I increase.
Since you're dealing with a lot of high numbers it would seem that an increase 'may' be a good idea...but you are using an Alpha Trak (I'm not familiar with those readings as I use a human meter) AND I'm not sure which protocol you're following. Also it seems you're away all day on week days -work?

Let's tag some of the other experts like @Wendy&Neko, @Jill & Alex (GA), @Marje and Gracie - to see if they could provide some input on your dose increase question....and of course @Bobbie And Bubba !

Thanks for replying! I was trying to think of some experts... :)
