Good morning all,
So we've had 3 cycles on the 2.5u dose, and I'm surprised I'm not seeing any action yet. It's possible he had an active cycle last night because Caleb forgot to check him after I went to bed, but I'm not seeing any obvious signs of an active cycle to assume today's pink is a bounce. I'm so frustrated at this point. I miss seeing greens and even low blues. All the pinks and yellows on the spreadsheet are hurting my eyes. Unfortunately today doesn't look like it will be much better, and there goes my two days off to check this dose. Obviously it's still early times, but it's looking like he'll need yet another increase, which tells me something is likely affecting his numbers. I scheduled the dental for next month, but now I'm thinking I may need to try to get him in earlier (which was still 3 weeks away) if this is how his numbers will be behaving. *Sigh*

In other news, my car wouldn't start last night, which is the first time that's happened with this car. Thankfully the rain kept my ma from work today and she took me to O'Reilly's and we figured it was just the battery. I got a new one and they installed it for me. I went right from there and got an oil change, then changed my windshield wipers. All-in-all a productive day. It's the first time I've been able to change my wipers by myself (they were always such a pain to get off), so that's exciting.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and your kitties stay safe out there. Sending vines of comfort, healing, and love to all those kitties and beans in need. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Hopefully you'll see some lower numbers soon. Lou may just be being bouncy. It's frustrating when they don't give us the number we want when we are home. :bighug:

That's the way I felt!! We are back up to 1.75 and now seeing blues and a few greens
Hope Lou comes on down

If there is something going on with his mouth it could be raising BG.
Pooping OK? we have seen constipation raise BG.

I can't see anything obvious either, he's been pretty high and flat, even the blue was only just blue, we don't know what he did earlier, but it seems unlikely that he dropped earlier, though you never know. I don't think Caleb missed anything last night either.
Last dosecrease it took 5 cycles before you saw green, we'll keep our paws crossed he drops down into nicer numbers soon. Give him 6 cycles, at this dose, and reassess.

I haven't noticed any poo issues, but I rarely go downstairs where the litter boxes are. I'll try to keep my eyes open to any potential issues. As far as the mouth, he sits with his mouth hanging open (just slightly open like he's surprised, not the wide open "I smell something bad/interesting".). It started about a year ago, which made us want to do a dental because it was odd, but then life happened. I had a thyroid biopsy and surgery, then the healing time. We got him into the vet in May and she switched his insulin, but didn't make any comment on the mouth issue, which I did bring up. She thought he didn't need a dental but was willing to humor us. He started doing so well on the Basaglar that we cancelled the dental thinking we'd do it later in the year. Well then we bought a house and moved, and now we're here with rising BGs, haha. I'm excited to get it done and see if it helps. Even if it doesn't help the BGs, I imagine he'll feel better regardless.

That's another thing that's driving me crazy. Lou's always had NDW on the first cycle of a dosecrease, and then usually at least starts moving in the right direction on cycle 2. This whole BGs moving slow as molasses thing is not like him and that's why I'm worried. At the end of the day I just hope it lowers eventually, but I'm bracing myself for needing another increase. As much as it makes me sad. :( I will definitely wait the full 6 cycles before changing anything though. ;)
