You can try some plant material that they are attracted to. Fuchsia is one and butterfly plant off the top of my head.@Beth 73
Thanks for the info. My feeders are facing North ,under the eve of the house. At least they're always in the shade. When it gets above 80 Degrees I do change the sugar water more often. I'm always checking.
I've seen videos with 20 hummies swarming around the feeder. It's been 3 years & I've only had one or two? How do they get so many? I feel like I'm doing something wrong?
I think you're right. He was laying on the step in front of my patio door. Probably hit the window!
Have a nice weekend![]()

If you are feeding them with sugar water, you have to be careful that you change that sugar water frequently, I believe it is weekly or a bacteria will form that is deadly to the hummers. I was using two feeders years ago but stopped because it was too much for me to remember and I didn't want to be responsible for killing any of the little beauties. Thanks for the suggestions, but I've got the butterfly bushes & 2 dozen other perennials I've never seen the hummers in my garden ,only by the feeders?
Only 3 hummers & now one is dead.
Maybe next year there'll be more?
