Yes...new dose Wonkiness... it she popped up into pink before you gave the new dose so it’s not NDW:)

Nelli Belle! Time for you to start using the insulin a little better.

Have a great day, Krystina.

anks Marje- you too, I hope the day is going your way :).
I am trying to decipher what you are saying ”it she popped up into pink before you gave the new dose so it’s not NDW” o_O

You tested her before you gave her an increase. She was at 313. Therefore, that high number cannot be attributed to the dose increase.

So, yes, to answer your question...high numbers after an increase for the first 24 hours or so may be attributed to the increase. I likely misunderstood your question. I thought you were wondering why her AMPS was high because, at this point, I’m not seeing any high numbers attributed to a dose increase :)

That’s what I thought... you meant.
She is doing “pretty good” with numbers today- to bad I couldn’t get a +5 today :-| she could have been lower than the +7 & +9.
Will try doing +5, +7 &, +9 tomorrow...
Catching on but not completely yet! Which brings me to question: based upon _____ number at_____, how often/ at what times should I ( minimum) test tonight?
Thanks ;)

I’d like you to try and answer your own question based on the info we’ve given you before now and things you’ve read in the stickys. I promise I’m not trying to be difficult at all and I will answer but I’d like you to take a crack at it so you are confident in knowing when to test if no one is around.

Now you’ve got me really confused o_O
Looking at 8/20 I’d say +5... Looking at 8/15 I’d say +6.
Ok... +5. What would you test :D?
And! Would you test again b4 AMPS?
Thank you my gracious (pain n the ass; lol) teacher :banghead:

Excellent! Looking at 8/15, she was already down a lot by +6 so +5 would have been a better choice. She started high and she dropped a lot by +6. And realize that as her numbers come lower, you will want to test sooner. For example, if you shoot a 120 and she’s 114 at +2, you probably want to test her by +4.

If you test at +5 and she’s at 135, would you test before AMPS? If she’s 200, would you?

Thank you my gracious (pain n the ass; lol) teacher
it’s why they pay me the big bucks around here :p:p:rolleyes::rolleyes::smuggrin: JK.

Side question that has been on my mind-
Let me preface by saying I am most always opposed to “anti”-biotics. I am a strong “pro”-biotic, being.
I agreed to start Nelli on Clavamox 125 mg every 12 hours “pending urine/culture” which I do not expect results of until Tuesday. She has taken 7 out of 12 doses. I (have been) wanting to take her off this.
My question then, if it was you and Nelli, would you or wouldnt you continue til gone?

I am also not a fan of throwing antibiotics at presumed issues. However, my vet has always said that once you start the antibiotic, if it isn’t causing the kitty to be sick, you should give what is prescribed. I trust my vet because she is very conservative about giving antibiotics.

Ok, smarty... if Nelli was 135 at +5 I would test her again (when, not sure?), if she was 200 NO. We’d get uninterrupted sleep until 6 a :bighug::bighug:

Ok, thanks for input :). Antibiotics cause/create other problems. Probiotics solve problems without rocking the boat. “Anti”/ “Pro.” I’m just sayin’

“as her numbers come lower, you will want to test sooner. For example, if you shoot a 120 and she’s 114 at +2, you probably want to test her by +4” -b/c we are talking %’s here right?

We are talking comfort level with lower numbers. Once you gather data, you might find that at lower numbers, she just flattens out and coasts around the same number. Then you don’t need to gather as much data.

Until you know her patterns, better safe.

After I test at +5 (depending on number), will you please discuss with me when YOU'd test next :bighug:?
