By being here you are doing what is right and best ❤️ You are caring and loving and not being dramatic :bighug: This whole thing can be very scary but thank goodness for the army of experienced folks on this board who are so capable at guiding others . Wish I could help you with shot advice but I am not one of the wonderful pros .. I can come along side and encourage when someone is having a discouraging time of it . Bless you for being willing to give of yourself to Tiny Sole ... it truly will be easier :bighug:

+2 is 97

Should I be worried? I know I have a few numbers before I get to 50, but I'm feeling concerned.
Is there anything I should do besides test at +3, or do I ride this out?

Give her a couple tsps of low carb food tomsee if you can slow her down. Don't overfeed at this point.

And one post per day please, just change the subject heading of your post if a new situation arises.

My sincere apologies, @Wendy&Neko

I will remove the other post and continue here.
It won't happen again.

I have her a 1/2 can of FF, she ate it all.
I will test at +3 and +4 (10:30 and 11 PM) and report back.

THANK YOU to all who are helping/responding.
Please only respond to this thread and ignore the second thread I started.
I'll report back at 10:30 PM EST at +3

Good job!!.....be careful how much you feed though....you don't want to fill her up and then NEED her to eat later on

Time to learn to surf, Tiny Sole!!

Tonight might be a good time to read the sticky on handling low numbers. I think this will be a nice flat cycle but one never knows. It’s scary the first time you see a number under 50 or with an AT under 68, at least it was for me. I printed the directions and kept them by my computer.

Scary?...heck yeah! I know enough that dropping numbers cause wracking nerves in the beans!
I have a separate tab with the instructions open.
I will review them repeatedly. :nailbiting:
Thanks for the reminder.
She is showing no symptoms of hypo, yet.
Should I test on the 1/2 hour, or just do the +4, etc?

No worries on the duplicate post, almost everyone does it when they are new. :bighug:

Sole is looking great so far tonight!:D

FYI - Elise's suggestion to print out the handling low numbers sticky note is a good one. You don't want the one time the power is out to be when Sole is going low. :nailbiting:

Ok, @Wendy&Neko , I'm going to believe you!
Instructions have been printed out.
When I'm not so stressed about her numbers I'm going to figure out how you are reading her that way!
I know she's not as low as she could go, and I know I shouldn't dread low numbers, but the unknowns are tough to move through.
Thanks for the support!

I hope one day to absorb your knowledge and experience, @Wendy&Neko!
She went up to 104 at her +4 just now.

I'm sure that the small amounts of food given helped stabilize her a bit.
I imagine that I should continue to test since she fell low quickly at + 1 through +3?
PS: I'm happy that you are on West Coast time!

I’d get one more test without feeding and if she doesn’t drop I’d feel comfortable calling it a night. I found feeding the curve like you did helped keep Max from big drops.

I would test again at +5. If she's the same or going up, you can call it a night. Since she hasn't had any high carb food, that rise is probably her natural cycle.

I'm up for a couple hours yet. :)

I send my love and gratitude to you both! :bighug:

I will test at +5 and see where she is.
I'll update the SS and drop a note here too.
...or, should I start a new thread, since it'll be a new day?
Let me know!

Thanks for that direction, @Wendy&Neko

Tiny Sole's +5 is 113
Should I stay up and get a +6, or get some sleep and try for a + 10 or a +11?

Thank you for all your help today, Wendy and Elise, and to everyone who sent encouragement.

Great job tonight Joanne!!

The first one is the hardest, but as you've seen, you're in control of Tiny's blood glucose.....As long as you have plenty of strips, can test as much as you need to and have plenty of supplies in your "hypo kit", there's no need to fear those pretty green numbers!!

@Chris & China , that is a great way to look at it, and admittedly, one that I had not considered. I will remember this and read more threads/explore more SSs.

I've got plenty supplies, but it occurred to me that I had better get a couple of spare batteries, just in case.

Thanks to all for the help and encouragement. XOXO

You did a great job!!! It is scary....you're getting the best advice from the best people! Tiny is in good hands (yours) You couldn't have found a better place to be under these circumstances....sending you love and strength!

Thanks, Beth. I don't mean to be dramatic, I just want to be able to take care of her and do what's right and best for her. I'm so inexperienced with this. Im also quite tired and trying to learn and do well... OY. It's stressful.
We ALL have been exactly where you are right now, stressed, overwhelmed, and even mad that they got diabetes, and some days when we didn’t think we could do all this, but I promise u it will get easier, the testing, shots, dosage, just knowing more info:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:Bella has been a diabetic for over a yr now and sometime we ALl still have questions and if not questions, just support, these people are the most awesome people I never met:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Great job last night!

The beginning of this journey is a nail biter. Everyone is scared -- scared of high numbers, scared of low numbers, scared they'll mis-dose their cat, scared to test, etc. And then there's the amount of information to try to absorb. In a word, it's overwhelming -- and that doesn't take any new information that we learn about into account. And to make matters worse, some vets give you static for listening to the "crazy cat ladies of the internet" (never mind that we have a lot more accumulated information than most vets when it comes to treating feline diabetes).

So, welcome to the group!! Please ask questions. The people here are generous with their time and support. We're here to help.

Thank you @Sienne and Gabby (GA). I have all the same feelings, worries and, concerns. Your words of wisdom (at minimum) are greatly appreciated ;)
