I know this isn't what you want to hear but bounces are inevitable. To some degree, every cat bounces -- some just seem to do it a LOT better than others! The problem is that if you don't increase, your cat sits in high numbers which is not good and there's a good chance that glucose toxicity will develop (i.e., your cat gets used to being in high numbers and it's harder to get them to get used to lower numbers. In other words, the potential for bouncing increases.)
This is my long winded way of saying it's fine to increase the dose.
I guess was just feeling like I was failing Ninja. It helps tremendously to know I’m not alone and that this process is exactly what I’m seeing. I increased his dose to 1.5 today, so we’ll see how he does. Would my feeding schedule be effecting his numbers? (I feed him four times a day, but it’s out until he finishes it. I only take it away about 2 hours prior to shot time, if it’s not already gone. It's hard to know how food may influence the cycle. Cats differ widely in that regard. I tend to encourage people to feed their cat prior to nadir. If you feed later in the cycle, there's less insulin available to offset the effect of food.
