Squallie seemed to be feeling pretty good, was his usual, perky self, but something changed overnight and I do not think he feels good today. He continues to refuse wet food, but is willing to eat YA and Dr.Elsey's dry, so that's what he's getting. He no longer has a feeding schedule, I just encourage him to eat any time he shows any interest. I still try to maintain the "no food two hours before shot-time" but, honestly, at this point, if he wants to eat I will feed him and make my insulin calculations accordingly. He is dinking a LOT, much more than I have ever know him to drink. I know he had a bowel movement two days ago, not sure if he's had one since; he might have, last night, but it also could have been one of the other cats. He is still on the cisapride, and I am trying to syringe his Miralax and other meds, but it is a struggle, as he mostly just lets it run out of his mouth.

Thank you to all for the prayers and well-wishes. I am sorry I didn't answer each of you individually, but I just couldn't even get on the board for a few days as I tried to come to terms with everything. I am deeply appreciative to you all. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I was thinking about getting CBD oil for Squallie. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, can it be given directly, or does it have to be administered on food or in water?

Hi Lucy
I know alot of people recommend this one, especially for cancer https://vetcbd.com/products/ but it is only available in California. Others swear by Canna Companion- a capsule. I give Murphy a cbd oil by Charlotte's Web, but I can't say that he responds to it I'm sure others will pipe in Been thinking about you and Squallie alot, Lucy - tomorrow big day for test results?

I discovered that they now have oil.

Lucy, I started using CC because it was formulated by vets. I tried oil for Gizmo but apparently he has an aversion to oils :rolleyes:. They offer free/complimary vet consultation so you could consult with them with your questions. They also have good customer service.

Lucy:bighug:and dear Squallie :bighug: Focus on loving on / caring for sweet Squallie bear and taking good care of yourself . Know you do not have to respond to us and that our thoughts, vines and prayers continue daily . Really love what M said in yesterday’s condo...I am in wholehearted agreement with her ❤️ :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

(((Lucy))) been thinking of you, sending tons of feel good vines for our favourite stripey old man. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Don't worry so much about the no feed for two hours before his shot. That's more for new people. As long as you know how much his meal bumps his numbers, you can take that into consideration at preshot time when deciding if a non food influenced number would be too low to shoot. Great news that Squallie is eating something!

Keep on spoiling him, and taking care of you. This time is hard on beans too. :bighug::bighug:

It's good Squallie is eating, even if it is dry. I'd feed him what he wants and just love on him. Spending time with him is the most important thing right now. Don't worry about replying to everyone. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I have not used the oil but I am looking into a new company that uses all human grade products even toothpaste.

Sending tons of love n prayers:bighug:

I like the sound of this CBD oil or similar & I am with you on the free feeding and most anything goes. Why not. I hope I am given that same love in the years to come.

We are all here L. We always will be. You don't have to post & stuff . {{{ me Luce }}}

For years I avoided the 2-hour "rule" because Rusty liked to have his snacks before dinner, when we were having our happy hour. I don't think it made any appreciable difference in his bgs, and he loved to sit with us.

We'll be thinking positively for the US results tomorrow. Lots of hugs and scritches,
