Nelli # keep going up... PM +9 420!?!! Wondering (now) if I am shooting correctly? Do not “feel “wet” fur”-her neuropathy had been so much better, for one day after giving her methyl b12 tab... two days ago? Yesterday she was all wobbly and drunk walking again... this morning the neuropathy is very, very bad. Advice plz. Thanks

Always when we have a fur shot, I can smell the insulin miles away. We use the Lantus pen, and it has a very distinctive smell. After I pull the insulin into the syringe and fix he dose, I wash my hands so they dont smell and I shoot. If the spot is wet and if it SMELLS a lot, then it was not inside. To test for the smell, just pull the dose into the syringe and shoot outside, you will see how much it smells.

Neuropathy doesn't resolve overnight. It can take up to 6 months for the methylcobalamin B12 to help. Keep giving it every day. Gizmo's was a slow gradual improvement but it did take almost 4 months to see real improvement.

When was Nelli's last full bloodwork?

Last full blood work.- I was thinking about that yesterday. It was back in June when she was first put on Lantus.
I know the neuropathy will not go away overnight. I was so excited for her when, two days after first dose/day of (County Line brand bought at health food store), she was noticbly better! Noticeably.
I have to go back to work now... will brb, 1.25 hours to check back in here and give her PMPS, shoot.

Hi Krystina, I always smell the fur after the injection to see if I smell any so I have an idea if I shot out of the fur. Most people can smell Lantus but there are a few peeps that do not detect a smell at all.

You did just increase the insulin yesterday morning and she could have a little of NDW (new dose wonkiness ) that is where the numbers go up before they start to come down.

I am glad that she had such a great response to the B12!

Where are you located? I am confused as you said you'd be giving her the PMPS in 1.25 hours.

Same with Leo, his neuropathy was very bad, he couldn't walk more than a couple of steps and needed to be carried to his litter and food on a tray served wherever he was for about 4 months. Keep giving the Zobaline everyday and as his BG numbers improve so will the neuropathy. :bighug:
