Good morning all!
Today's the day and this weekend is the time we can see if Lou is a good traveler! Considering how he's been acting the last two days, I don't have an awful lot of confidence, but as with this FD dance, Lou may continue to surprise me. He seemed more himself late last night and he woke me up this morning. Still hissed at Bella even though I had gone out last night and bought cat wipes to give them both a "bath" if her smell was an issue. I can't roll my eyes hard enough at him. Both Caleb and I needed to go to sleep last night so I gave him a tsp of Bella's I/D food (which is 23% carbs) with some LC. I was hoping that would carry him through the night. I was both surprised and not at the 51 this morning. He's determined to show off at preshot time, haha.
After talking with Wendy last night, I gave Lou a 2.0u BCS dose to drain his depot a bit for the trip. She made a very good point about going too low while on the road. I'll dose him at 3.0u this evening through Sunday morning since I'm pretty confident that dose won't bring him too low. I don't want to worry too much about him, considering that's part of the reason we're bringing him with us! Unless some miracle happens on the 3.0u, I'll bring his dose back up to 3.5u Sunday evening when we return.
I may or may not be on much this weekend, depending on what's going on at the farm. I'll still try to look in on Bella's spreadsheet (@Bellasmom), though I'm sure he and his dad will be well taken care of! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope your kitties stay safe!!

Apparently it's happened to her a couple of times. She had suggested decreasing at least 3 cycles beforehand so I could ensure he wasn't going too low, but I asked far too late to do that. Since he's been hanging out around the 50s (AMPS and +2 case in point, haha), I decided to do a BCS to drain the depot a bit to hopefully ensure he's safe for the drive today. I'll also dose him lower during the weekend so I can have fun instead of being a helicopter mom.
