AMPS 143

Part of me is elated and part of me is doing this: :nailbiting:

Its a similar PS to last night, so I want to believe he'll do the same, but we all know cats dont like to do that. I can't come home today during lunch, so I may leave him some extra carbs. Maybe leave Dr Elsey's for some of his snacks instead of wet....

How are your cats around other cats? My own cats are pretty good so I just throw the new one in and watch for a while. But if your cats are brats, then put the kitten in a room for a few days and do slow introductions.
I am honestly not sure how they will be. I think Rex will be fine with a small adjustment period. Its more Gordy I am concerned about. He did accept Rex when I got her, but they are not BFFs. Its why I want to get a kitten this time around. I figured they'd both adjust better with that.

Nice start for Gordy. I hope he surfs safely today. Good luck if you get a kitten. I've read that a kitten can drive older cats crazy because it wants to play more than they do and it may be best to get two kittens so they can play together.

I've heard that too... but Rex is still pretty playful, so my hope is that she takes to her. Before I adopted Rex, she had birth a litter of kittens herself, so maybe her mama instinct will appear. Then again.... when we got Gordy all those years ago, my cat then (Fluffy, she was a super bee ) tried to kill him on their first meeting. Cats.... they keep you on your toes.

Thats a hearty food bump! I decided on making his snacks all Dr Elsey's. It may put him a little higher, but he will come down. (Plus he lovessss it, so hell be happy)

When you do bring home the kitten, leave it in the kennel and let both cats sniff at it. Then you can decide what the next step is.
That's a good idea. I am borrowing a bigger crate from a friend. Most likely, at least for the beginning, the kitten will be crated when i am not home, mainly for her own safety.

I tried the kitten thing 2x in past couple years, my cat were not going to have it, especially Bella:eek:
Good luck, hope it works out
This is my worry... but my current herd comes first, so if doesnt work out.. the kitten will be voted out. (Though I HOPE I dont have to do that.)

I know..it made me sad..I borrowed a 2 level cage and let kitten in there for a couple days, before I was gonna let him out and my cats carried on like I was replacing them, they were very upset or they would hide and not come out, I so hope it works for u
