Davidson is lookin' FINE!!:woot::woot: Look at all those lagoon numbers! Luci and @Bellasmom - Bella boy are going to join him today for some surfing lessons - looks like he knows what he's doing...how's about it Davidson???:cool:Wanna show these cats how it's done? Thanks sweetie!!!:bighug::bighug:

Well, we all wish it was that easy. Davidson like to surf those greens and it look impressive, however he's still on a good dose of juice and last couple of days are the fist time we've seen the greens during am/pm ps.........it's a start, but long way to go and he's yet to earn a reducie on this dose. We certainly will give lessons, but have no idea how, LOL!! Davidson says he gets spoiled rotten every day, sticks his tongue out to get treats, knows his test times so he knows he gets treats, more treats and nice big kisses each test. Never eats MC or HC food, and tries to get play time in each day..........hmm, sounds like all you kitties get the same treatment. Harley thinks so, cuz he's as spoiled as Davidson.

Davidson want you all to be as good as he is, and when he figures it out he'll be sure to send the tricks your way.:cool::bighug:

Well, it was Shark Week on TV last week and we watched lots, so Davidson feels it's now safe to swim with them...........his mommy is here watching and I hope he drops below the magic number 40 to earn a reducie. Wait - golf day tomorrow so no doubt hes got some tricks up his paw!

In case any of you newbies are wondering why all the tests - Davidson was in remission for 4 yrs, and now on his second go around with FD I'm trying to catch him under 40 as that's when he earns a reduction. If I don't test, I will not know his numbers and being so close, it's best to keep testing until he goes up at least over 50. Remember ECID and YOU have to know YOUR cat!! Davidson is perfectly fine at these numbers but hungry cuz he usually gets a snack and I don't want the food to influence his test numbers. There is never such a thing as "too many tests" and if you're around to test, then you never see the results. Yes - many work and can't be there all the time, but you'll do the best you can given your individual situations.

Might have a bounce tomorrow after being low for so long tonight........time will tell.

He is absolutely refusing to drop below 40, isn't he?! Refusing to drop and refusing to go up. Surfing with the sharks... he better watch out! I don't want one to take a bite out of his board!

That's my Guy! LOL, he does like the water as he's always walking into my shower (walk-in type) so maybe practicing his swimming techniques??? Crazy..........wish he'd go up a bit if he's not going to drop so I can feed him as Harley's getting pissed at us both, haha.

Ok, I'm getting tired of this game!!! Good thing I have lots of test strips...........The water's warm, so swimming with the sharks seems to appeal to Davidson

YEAH, YEAH, YEAH...........finally Davidson earned a reduction by going under 40. Good enough for me, so fed him normal FF and will test as needed tonight.........he's fine!!!

QUESTION: Should I reduce to 3u, as he was on a fat 3 which was about 3.15u.........OR, reduce to 2.75? I DO NOT WANT TO RUSH THINGS,.,.,.,.,.,.,so appreciate feedback from those who have gone the 2nd remission route before.

THANKS to all for watching him...........

I think that 3U is a good idea. At least try it out for several days and see how he does. If Davidson is used to getting a few snacks and looks forward to them, I think you should not withhold this pleasure just because you are hoping to get a reduction. Try to keep to the natural rhythm of the cycle. Congrats on the reducie!

Thanks, and agree on reducie to 3u. As for the snacks, each test he gets a few freeze dried chicken treats, so he’s eating. The actual snack is given around 22:00 before bedtime (which varies by a couple hours at times) so it’s not necessary and always depends on how much food he eats during the day. Had the lower numbers started later then he’d of had his snack already. I’ll watch him tonight and test in case he still drops.....I’m expecting a big bounce tomorrow, haha..

Thanks Jill.........after 1/2 can of FF half hour ago, he just dropped again.........NEW TERRITORY for me, should I give him HC food, or just keep watching him and wait for increased numbers naturally? He's fine, no symptoms whatsoever of a hypo

Honestly, I wouldn't fool around with waiting for him to come up on his own. You have better things to do. He's earned the reduction. He has nothing to prove. Just don't over-do the HC.

Just my thoughts...

Wendy/Tiggy suggested giving him HC food and I did.........1 tbsp about 5 min. ago and will test again at +6 and continue testing to insure he goes up at least twice before I go to sleep (sleep, what's that, lol). I'm not expecting him to prove anything but wasn't sure when to feed the HC since I've never done that before. I know some kitties have gone to the high 20's and then given HC food.............

** At this point, I'll take all the education I can.........Davidson seems to be handling the low numbers very well.

Tnx!

All you want to do is get him above 50 and stay there. You'll have to see how much and what carb level it takes to do that (some cats are more carb sensitive than others). Then let him go up naturally.

Bit more HC, slowly going up but still not over 50......I’m not rushing the HC, tsp at a time and he should start riding as insulin is past his nadir - then again one never knows what he’ll do.

You're doing great!

If you have to fight this much longer, there's always the option to skip the shot in the morning to drain the depot. It's one of those things you'll have to play by ear because at this point, we don't know if or when he'll bounce to the moon. I think you have good instincts and will make the right call.

Ahh, bed time........he's had 2 tests over 50 and well on his way up now. Gotta be up in 4.5 hrs for his amps, lol.
Thanks Jill for your guidance..........Davidson is the one who did great..............we'll see if he allows me to go golfing tomorrow.
