I will post his numbers here as I just got new tablet and working on getting his spreadsheet on it

Garfie July 30 .25 units
Amps 387 +2 354 +7 398
Pmps 403 +3 282 +4 225 +7 66 +7.5 3.1 +8 50 +9 59.4

Garfie July 31 .1units
Amps 73.9
+.5 106

QUESTION ??
Need help getting dosage when this happens as I would rather not skip dose. So this morning he got .1 unit ...
why does he go from very high numbers all the way down like this??
What do I do when this happens?..
I leave for work at 9am should I give him more gravy food to boost him so I know he will be ok?

Still trying to get his ss on tablet I posted next to his number I shooted .1 this morning as I don't want to keep skipping doses. I just did a test and he's 106 concerned cause he kept dropping so I did give him a bit of gravy earlier

Ok I would test right before you leave for work and if he’s dropping I would leave some mixed carbs down, if it a lot lower leave HC

Did you shoot? I don’t see anything on today’s ss that’s why I’m asking

Yes - Rebecca posted it twice in her thread showing the .1unit - since she hasn't got her new tablet (yeah) working just yet WE are still on the phone when questions arise at 05:30am when many ore still sleeping (lucky ones).........so in order to keep Garfie on schedule and not miss doses, I thought it best to give .1u to keep some insulin working and not to skip another dose.

Huge differences in the BG numbers with such little insulin. We know Garfie needs more insulin as being in the 200-300's requires it and he's been there from the start. However, Garfie tosses in these low shark infested numbers every so often and messes things up.

Rebecca will do another curve later this week but needs to keep on the dose to get accurate numbers and see where his nadir is.......not easy with Garfie dropping like he's doing.

*** Catch 22 situation whereas the SLGS method says not to shoot if he gets below 90 (I believe, my memory is with TR) yet if he doesn't get the shot cuz he drops we'll never get him on a correct dose. For those who have been long term FD, what do you suggest when dealing with a newbie and Garfie's numbers?

Remember, Rebecca is not on the Board during the day, but may have a chance to peek in on her lunch. Evenings is when she will update the SS and see all the replies.

Happy Tuesday.
