:arghh: Feeling discouraged. Will it ever get better???
Pretty Girl seemed reasonably good at AMPS this morning - although not as good as yesterday - but still lots of purring. Really fought me on the testing but I succeeded.

I don't see much of a low point for Pretty Girl overnight last night. What does this mean??

She doesn't feel as good after eating but she got her shot and should feel some better before too long.

She’s recently diagnosed and will I’m pretty sure need an increase after you do a curve. Any idea when that will be? For most it’s a marathon rather than a race as takes patience. Hang in there. :bighug:

I'm sorry to hear Jean, but with the advice and support of the Lantus people here I think you have a much better chance of regulation for Pretty Girl. I know you have been struggling for some time since her initial diagnosis, but perhaps you can look at this as a new starting point. You are trying everything you know and asking lots of questions regarding Pretty Girl's treatment. You obviously care and that counts for a great deal. I have been following the posts and threads, and sure hope that a dose increase will make a difference. Hugs!

Did you end up increasing this morning or are you waiting for your new syringes? Unfortunately, at these higher numbers, the low points - or nadirs - are there, but they're just not obvious because the BG is still high. Nadirs can be a moving target, and you can only get an idea from testing a couple few times a day. From your mini curve yesterday, Pretty Girl's nadir may be around +5 to +6. Since that's just one day/one curve, it's hard to say for sure. Regardless, Lantus keeps a kitty's BG relatively flat throughout the cycle. So you're seeing what you want to see, the flat curves, but just in the wrong colors. This tells us Pretty Girl definitely needs an increase. I would do that as soon as you can to start getting those numbers down. I completely understand your frustration though. It's so hard not to want to rush things with Lantus, but you just can't (and believe me, I tried, haha). You are doing great though, don't forget that!! :bighug:

Thank you. She was diagnosed a year ago. I did a mini curve yesterday - enough to see what is going on.

I didn't increase. I'm waiting for the new syringes which are supposed to be delivered today. The syringes I have are so tiny and the markings are really hard to see - it wasn't that easy to estimate .5 unit when I was doing that amount. I can't imagine trying to find 1.25 units on the syringes I have now.

Hoping and praying Pretty Girl will soon be better.

What do you think is the reason for the random blues and yellows on my sheet?

Help needed - Pretty Girl seems different tonight - not sleeping after her meal and not laying in a heap after her shot. Active, awake, alert but something seems a bit off to me. Maybe it's my imagination. She seems more normal like her twin. But I'm paranoid.

I'm about to do another test which is now +3 hours.

Anyone have a clue?

The syringes with the half markings didn't come today even though tracking showed they should be delivered 07/30.

So at +3 tonight she is 431. :arghh:

So worried that something else is wrong. She seems good but is that an illusion??

I don't know what those are.

Just plain reading glasses from WalMart or something.....sometimes we put one pair on top of another to get "double magnification"

are you still around tonight?

Yes but I have to get off soon

Since you didn't get the syringes and aren't comfortable with measuring, all you can really do is increase a soon possible.

One thing you can do is just do the best you can....play with some colored water of some kind so you can really see where you are in the syringe and do the best you can to do 1.25.....use the syringe with the colored liquid to compare to the "real thing".....it's not so important that you get exactly 1.25..it's important that you give a consistent dose

You might want to try to get some ketone tests in. You have to get a urine sample and dip a urine ketone strip in and follow the directions on the bottle.

As long as she's eating well and doing all the normal "cat things", another day shouldn't make a big difference

Thank you @Chris & China and @Wendy&Neko for helping me and calming me down a bit.

I will do as you suggested with the double glasses (never heard of that before) and just do the best I can with the syringes I have.

I have to get some sleep. Thanks again.
