Thanks, Sina! :bighug:❤️:bighug:
He's pretty much the same this AM, he ate a little bit of food swimming in a lot of chicken broth, so at least that's something (the food was swimming, not the cat, lol! At least I still have a sense of humor!). Negative on the ketones but I am planning to check again next time I catch him in the box. I am exhausted just from worrying about him, but I have terrible insomnia so I'm used to being exhausted. :)

Lucy, at least he’s eating some. And good no ketones.
I think you mentioned earlier that theres an Er near (?) and that dental specialist has a 24/7 emergency on-call. Thought is get in touch with the dental specialist 24/7 to update and see what they say....even if going to Er a suggestion.

How’s Squallie’s hydration? Another thought is maybe infection brewing as folks have mentioned above but also with the hot weather, the feeling off, a maybe infection, some dehydration set adding stress to the dear gallant fellow’s kidneys, something I thought no you and others mentioned earlier.

Have you considered the liver shake to get some extra nutrients in?

Heaps and heaps of vines for you and mr super senior. And I hope you can catch a nap, too.
❤️

Ps: Akin to Squallie’s preference for the real deal chicken and dislike of baby food meat, Spunky Bella and Dancer are of the same mind. I steam or bake chicken breast with some of the homemade chicken broth and they’ll go for that in between reg foods.
Spunky went for that too as primary food, after her recent tooth extraction and ear polyp removal, bc she turned her nose up to almost everything else.

I think he's fairly well hydrated, he's been drinking a lot of chicken broth! Had ordered the spirulina for the liver shake last time he stopped eating, but he started eating again so I cancelled the order; wish, now, that I hadn't done that.
Thanks for the ideas and encouragement! :bighug:❤️:bighug:❤️:bighug:
3oz FF Beef, Renal K, Cosequin, D-mannose, Panc Booster

I hope Squallie is better, I hope the vet visit is productive and gives an answer to what has been happening with him! I hope it is nothing serious, sending many :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug: for you two!

Poor Squallie and poor you, I bet tomorrow can't come fast enough. I hope the dentist can figure out what's wrong and that it's an easy fix for him and you. :bighug:

When my Ravan wouldn't eat i gave him a piece of Raw liver, chopped up. He gobbled it up & wanted more. It's very good for him & if nothing else works it might help
Once he felt better he didn't want the liver. (it's also easy to eat if his mouth hurts.)

I hope he feels better soon.:)

Have you tried Dr. Elsey's? It's a newer kibble that is supposedly low-carb, might be another option for those "he won't eat anything" times.
Thanks, Nan. I do have some and he will eat a bit of it at times. I need to have a variety of options - he develops food aversions so easily
Lucy, best of luck tomorrow. Will be thinking about you and Squallie

Thanks, I will try that! He loves liver, usually. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Thanks, Carol, I will let everyone know tomorrow what the dentist has to say. :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Squallie didn't used to, but now it seems he develops food aversions pretty easily, too. :( I'm opening cans just for him, faster than even my other three can deal with! I've had to throw away an awful lot of cat food lately!

Hi Lucy,

I haven't been on lately, so just saw that Squallie isn't feeling well. I'm sending you my strongest healing vines and lots of prayers. I hope the dentist has some answers for you, and Squallie is soon doing much better.

I'll be watching for updates. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Vetty vines :bighug:

I hope you get some answers today. I would ask about the phos level and possible anemia (you could look at his labs from pre-dental) along with checking his mouth.

Is it just me or does Squallie still look like a kitten? Maybe that's part of why we all care so much.
Nobody likes the dentist Squallie :( Come home and tell us a good story. :bighug:
