Good Morning,
Last night I checked Scooter at + 6.5 (109). I set my alarm to check him again in an hour and I guess I slept through it. I never do that. I feel like a terrible mom! Fortunately Scooter seems fine this morning, so I guess he didn’t do anything too drastic. I guess with a 116 AMPS I shouldn’t shoot. I have to go to work at +1. I can’t get out of it today. I wish he would do these low PS in the evening, so I could shoot. How long do I stay on this dose with, the NS. I don’t feel like I’ve really seen what this dose will do.

Since you’re on the TR you need to keep on this dose as its only been a couple of days, Don’t worry about last night, we all have experienced that. Scooter needs to drop below 50 to earn a reducie, and with the NS he’ll use his depot for his insulin needs. Sorry, I cant recall what the magic number is for not shooting, and if you can’t be home to test due to work, perhaps you can skip this shot. He’ll bounce a bit.........others should start waking up, lol and offer suggestions

I will skip this morning. If I were home I wouldn’t worry about shooting this low number, but I feel like we’re too new to these numbers for me to know what he might do. I think shooting and leaving would be too dangerous. We’ve had a very nice last two cycles, so I hate to skip again, safely first though. Thanks! I hope you and Davidson have a great day!

Sometimes it is safer to skip. Scooter will get back on track and you'll be able to see what he is doing on this dose.

It does get easier, I promise, wasn’t so long ago I was anxious about shooting lower numbers and going to work but I promise it will get easier:bighug:

If Scooter would give me the low numbers at PMPS I could shoot and monitor and have some idea what he might do. I wish someone had a crystal ball that could have told me he was going to bounce. I really thought he would bounce last night, but he sure fooled me. He would have been quite safe, I think, had I shot this morning. Oh well, he did have 24 hours of blues for the first time. I still consider it progress!

I’m always glad when Bella pulls the low at night even if I have to set my alarm for every hr, I’m tired the next day at work but I know he’s safe

Hi Jill. Yes, you will get comfortable shooting safe numbers like today's AM number despite leaving for work. If you can get some PM + 10 and +11 test in to see if he is rising or falling at that time, that will help you to shoot some lower numbers in the AM cycle. But, for now, better safe than sorry. The more data you can get, the more comfortable you'll get shooting lower numbers.

Next time he’s low I will get a +10 and/or 11. I still can’t believe I slept through the alarm last night. Next time I’ll turn the volume full blast!
