Hubby gave MC @ +5.5 (56) last night, retested @ +6 (86). How much MC I am not sure but it looks like about 1/2 pouch(?). I suspect these numbers are a combination of a bounce, the MC and him not feeling well.

He is still very lethargic. Obviously not feeling good and has NO energy. He ate all of his fudz laying down last night - but he ate all of his fudz (except the YA @ +6.5, but that is probably because of the MC given @ +5.5).

Ate all his AMPS fudz (CBC).

I really don't know what to do. I am tempted to call in sick and take him to the vet. Any advise welcome.

Hope everyone has a fantastical Friday!

Picture of him this morning on the bed when I was getting ready for work.

Ahhhh poor thing, if you can, better to be safe, I would if I could
Hope he gets to feeling better soon:bighug::bighug:
He’s eating so that’s a good sign
He looks like he doesn’t feel well:bighug::bighug::bighug:
If you do please update

He looks like he doesn’t feel well
He was purring this morning. And, like I said, eating, but I have to either take him to the food or take the food to him.

I am now debating whether to take him to the regular vet or over to the Hospital where his IM is (I have no idea if Dr. Stone (IM) is working today).

I am wondering if he had a hypo when I wasn't here and this is a possible result. I have no other clues. He is NOT acting like pancreatitis at all. And does not act like he is in pain.

Is vet there tomorrow, maybe he did and give it another day, he’s eating and purring, I’m pretty sure if he did it would wipe him out, when Bella did he was whooped for a couple days

Regular vet office is open tomorrow but regular vet (Dr. Jen) won't be there. She usually works on Fridays. Of course the hospital is open 24/7.

Wish the MC food wasn't a factor and I could trust these higher numbers as some sort of indicator but hubby needed to get to sleep and I completely understand him wanting to make sure Gizmo was safe.

I researched your thread question and couldn’t find anything on after hypo, sorry
?

I am not understanding your statement. I am wondering if he went hypo when I wasn't here.

My question is what are the symptoms after a hypo? How long do they last? Could he be lethargic because of a hypo 1-3 days ago?

Right, sorry...I researched what are symptoms after a hypo and I couldn’t find anything

All I know is Bella was, he was exhausted, but he was falling over and I think possibly seizures, it was first day I brought him home from vets after dx

Hubby is up. He said he only gave about 1 teaspoon of MC last night so numbers are not a result of over doing the MC food.

How long before he acted "nornal"?
He was acting normal and vet said at 4pm give him 4u while he is eating so I did, about 30 min later he couldn’t walk, I didn’t test back then cause I didn’t know to, come to find out when they gave him 4u that am they didn’t feed him:mad:, so he had 1 can (i gave) on 8u of insulin novolin n

It was a couple days

But lizzie his hypo episode was really really bad, I thought he was gonna die, I had vet tech on phone telling me what to do, I was literally pouring honey down his throat

He isn't looking very happy in the photo......do you think he is in pain somewhere? Sheba used to look like that when she was getting a pancreatic flare. Lethargy can be caused by dehydration.....is he dehydrated at all do you think?

Gave him pain meds yesterday @ +8 (94bg). He doesn't act like he is in pain. And doesn't act nauseated.

Gave 50mL fluids @ +1 last night. He didn't seem dehydrated, it was more as a preventative measure.

He got his Cerenia, Ondan and BP meds last night @ ~+3.

Just gave him 0.2ml of pain meds this morning.

Called in and took a sick day.

He usually won't eat (or has a bad appy) during panc flare. He is eating well as long as I bring him his food or take him to the feeder. It is like he doesn't have enough energy to bother to get up and go to the feeder. He is still going up stairs to use the LB and came up this morning (normal routine) when I got up.

If only they could talk and tell us what is the matter!
I used to hate it when Sheba was unwell and I didn't know what it was.....and I hated it when I did know!
Am glad you took the day off and hope you can get to the bottom of it.
Sending energy and feel better vines to Gizmo.

Ok, silly cat. As soon as his feeder turned he jumped down and ran to his feeder and is currently chowing down :banghead:.

I am going to test in 30 min to see if his numbers are coming down and then attempt to take his temp (hahaha :joyful:). I plan on doing the taco wrap and

Oh, Lizzie , you are the best momma bean :bighug: Sending prayers that you get Mr Gizmo sorted out today . Glad you are staying home :bighug: Good luck on the temp taking :woot:

+3=140

Well, that is encouraging. Right after I tested i took his temp. It went really well. Did not taco him or anything. He was laying in his testing spot and I just lifted his tail and inserted the thermometer and just kinda wrapped my upper body around him and he just laid there. It was a digital thermometer and didn't realize it was set on Celsius before I took it - Celsius 37.2/F 98.9 (normal). He has been to his water bowl twice since eating and seems to be moving around a bit more.

I am going to hold off on the vet for now. I can always take him to the hosp (minimally more $$) if needed.

Maybe we are just dealing with a panc flare.

Hi Lizzie, Been away all week and just checked in. He does not look happy at all in that first picture but running to the feeder is a good thing! Hope he bounces back soon cause we know how much he likes to go the vet

Hi Lizzie! I answered your tag last night about SEB ball this morning on yesterday's thread. Sorry, I was offline most of the day.

He looks just pooped to me. But so glad he's eating and running to the feeder is a really good sign. I would probably hold off with the vet too. Maybe he could have been reacting to just be in lower numbers yesterday. Or he just wanted his momma to stay home with him today.......little stinker.

Almost wondering if he injured himself in some way and the pain is in his legs or hips. Not limping or anything (I messaged him and didn't get a response either) but since he has been feeling better with the lower numbers he has been more active (earlier this week). I had a talk with him and told him just because he was feeling better didn't mean he was a kitten :cat:

Bobbie took the words out of my mouth.......I reckon he just wanted you home with him today:joyful:
Glad he seems a bit better....running to the feeder is a good sign.
Sheba used to bolt to the feeder from anywhere in the house the minute she heard the first click of the mechanism.

Oh my goodness! I just got caught up with what's been going on this morning! Regardless, I am glad you took the day off and I'm glad he seems a bit better. I'll still send some feel-good vines your way and I hope he continues to seem better. :bighug:

Had to take him to the feeder for his +4.5. He ate about 3/4 and went back to his bed. I took the rest to him and he finished it. I went ahead and gave a dose of Ondan when I tested. I also added another 1/4 Cerenia to his dose tonight so he will get 9mg along with another dose of Ondan and his BP meds.

+3=86

Aww...poor kitty...we worry ourselves to pieces over these babies don't we?:arghh: Well, glad you were able to take the day and stay home with him...and I hope he appreciates it...and I hope he'll be feeling much better soon and will be back to his usual self! You're a good mama bean!!:bighug::bighug:

Ate ok for PMPS. Meds on board (@ +11), Canna given via after shot treat. Going to give another dose of pain meds in about 30 min.

He also has to get his Epogen tonight. I hate giving those as they hurt him but it has to be done - hubby helps, well, actually, I help hubby - he does better at shooting it than I do as I can restrain Gizmo better. I have already drawn it and it is getting to room temp. Hoping to give at +1.

Gizmo is still pretty lethargic. I did get some lovins out of him and a major purr fest earlier in the afternoon.

It does all look and sound like he is feeling right uncomfy somehow at the moment. It's the look & lethergy isn't it.

Do hope he picks up over the weekend Liz. Do you think he is a bit dehydrated somehow? Y'know , the pinch the skin test thing.

Do you think he is a bit dehydrated somehow?
He got 50mL of fluids last night. I checked him (via pinch test) this afternoon and doesn't seem to be (or barely, maybe?). Both times I gave him his meds today his mouth had saliva (thicker) so I think there may be some nausea. I will give more fluids tomorrow if he isn't acting much better. He is laying more normal (head not down so much). He has visited his water bowl on a regular basis today too. So he is eating and drinking.

You know, this little turd of mine does the same thing. It is entirely possible. Of course, it could just be a spot of stiffness from new found mobility, sort of like working out a muscle you did not know you had. If Pig has an exciting bout with Tail he will seem almost stiff and sluggish for a bit afterwards. Regardless, I am positive that whatever is causing poor Gizzy to not feel so spry you will figure it out and deal with it amazingly well! All the faith in you, Momma Beans!! :bighug::bighug::bighug:
