Lovie's shot has been gradually moving in the last few days because I have had to wait to shoot her while trying to figure out what to do about her dose. I understand that it's not safe to just move her shot suddenly. My problem is that I have to be at work in the morning at 8 and Lovie's current shot time is 9. I already moved the shot time this morning 30 minutes earlier. With recent DKA in our picture I know that I need to be careful. No one will be home to monitor Lovie while I'm at work.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Could I skip the shot tonight? Is there a way that I can skip the shot in the morning? or is it too dangerous to skip because of the recent DKA? help! tomorrow is coming fast.

It's not a good idea to skip shots when there's a recent DKA in the picture.

If you moved the shot 30 minutes earlier this morning (to 8:30) you should be able to move it to 8am tomorrow morning.

We suggest adjusting either 15 minutes per cycle or 30 minutes per day

Thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately, The shot was moved this morning from 930 to 9. In order for me to get to work on time I will need to shoot her at about 720 in the morning... this is a significant move to an earlier shot time which I understand works like I've increased the dose. Yikes. I don't know what to do....

I think I'd go with 0.5 u again this evening. Based on her numbers so far this dose should be low enough to handle any dose timing change effects. I wouldn't skip.

I would. Once you have a couple of cycles of data as you shift the time and maybe another one or two at the new time your BG data should indicate what you need to do with the dose going forward.

You could also test at +11.5 tonight (which would be 8:30pm?)…...IF she's high enough, you could shoot the .5 early (as long as you understand about the early shots sometimes acting like an increase)
