If you look at Candi's Spreadsheet she is still doing excellent since all the steroids are out of her system. My question is what would be a good dry food for just after breakfast to tie her over until Supper? My mom is going to come over and take care of her but I would like her to have something to last her from Breakfast to Supper so that she can get her Thyroid medicine. I don't want to go buy her a bag of her Nulo Dry because it only comes in a 12lb bag. We plan to keep her on Canned food only just want something so that she doesn't get hungry in between Breakfast and Supper when my mom comes over to feed her, give her, her meds, and sits with her. She is her Granmama to her and loves my mom like crazy so she will soak up the extra attention.
If anyone can recommend something alot lower in Carbs than Nulo's Dry Food. It is low on the Glycemic index because it has Sweet Potatoes in it but don't want to give any reason for her sugar to start to go up.

Thanks
Chrissy

You could have her leave wet food out. It would be fine being out for her to graze on between breakfast and supper.

Dr Elsey's has dry food that is 5% carbs. Young Again Zero has only trace carbs but can cause runny, stinky poop!

It wouldn't spoil? We did that before when we were gone overnight having our neighbor watch her and it made Candi sick. I sure wouldn't want Young Again then.

If it is in an air-conditioned house, it should be fine. My girls food is only left out 6 hours (they are fed 4 times a day), but I have seen others on here discuss leaving it out much longer. An auto-feeder might be another option.. you could have it scheduled to turn to a different compartment mid-day so that she gained access to fresher food. Some of them let you put an ice pack underneath.

You can buy "young again". I think most of us here use. It's low in carbs.

I leave wet food out all day (from 6 to 6) and the cats come back and graze all day. I add extra water to it. My house does stay pretty cool (even in the summer).

Another option if you'd like to stick with wet food is to leave out "foodsicles." We bought a silicone little ice cube tray and we mix wet food and water and freeze the mixture. We turn out one or two foodsicles that our kitties can eat as or after they melt. Another idea when we took a quick overnight trip is we just froze a full can of wet food on a plate and left that out. The cats ate from it as it melted and it was gone when we came home.
