Pita's Dosing Party: 13

Tried to get a +6 from Pita just now, but he wouldn't let me/moved to the corner. I tried once as he sat there but was unsuccessful. Given that I'm half asleep, I didn't continue. However, I am going to assume there's probably no way he didn't get lower again, since he gave a 58 @ +3.75 before bed. I'll reduce again in the morning to 2.2 units.

Wow Pita! HE put his foot down on that testing...but yes, it sounds like he suddenly decided he wants less insulin.

Sam was being a total butt-head about testing last night too. I swear these kitties talk to each other.

Nice to see Pita heading down the dosing scale again!

100 AMPS. 2.2 might be too much, but it also may be just right, so we'll steer if need be with midday numbers. Thank you both!

It's both comforting and hysterical to know how similar they are!

Had pretty steady, consistent numbers today. I'm at work but Matt will hold the 2.2 dose tonight. Last test he was at 92 so I'm curious to see where he lands for PMPS.

That 2.2 looked good on him today. You're so brave when it comes to dosing, and I think that is in large part why Pita has done so well. And kudos to Matt for getting so good at testing!

Aww, thank you Djamila! I don't usually feel brave but I'm trying! Yes he's been a huge help for sure. :D

Meant to get a +3 test today but wasn't able to. The +5 test was 138 which was slightly higher than AMPS (134). I poked multiple times and barely got enough blood for the strip, so I believe it read higher than it actually was (something I realized happens with not enough blood!). I tested again at +6.5 and he was at a nice 73, so I hope he didn't go too low and I was unaware. At any rate, I'll have Matt give 2.2 again this evening and I'll be able to get a test later tonight.

I agree with you on that -- I think that 138 is wrong. It doesn't fit with any of Pita's patterns.

I love all the PM cycle data, but I'm starting to worry that you're not sleeping enough. Are you taking care of yourself? (please read that in your best "mom" voice ;))

Bahahaha! Omg I needed that laugh. Yes, I swear I'm sleeping. My schedule is different so I'm up later or just wake up to pee myself and test him. I really appreciate you asking though! Very sweet.

116 PMPS. I have a feeling the 2.2 might be a bit too much but I'll find out tonight (date night/movie so I'll be up late ;))

164 AMPS. This could be a mistake but I'm going to drop to 2.0 units today. I know he doesn't bounce too much but I'm thinking (hoping) that he's a bit higher because he went lower. So we'll see!

186 PMPS. The only test I got was +5 today and he was only at 100. Decided to have Matt just go back to 2.2 units. I know I didn't really give the 2.0 units a big try but we'll see how this coming week goes.

Yup, that cycle today is about as textbook perfect as you can get. Fingers crossed he's ready for that reduction in a few more days.

I'm actually wondering if I should be going back up if his PS's stay higher again. Won't know for a couple days anyway, but that crossed my mind.

It does look like he could probably take a 2.3 right now, but I agree that giving him another day at 2.2 before you decide would be best since he's been heading downward. He might start showing better number in the next couple of cycles, and if not you can increase a little.

225 PMPS. 99@ +3.25-planning to get up in a couple hours, but maybe it is too high of a dose? I'll see what I get later.

51@+5. Treating it like a lime green and gave 1 tsp gravy food. Also assuming he needs a reduction- wondering if I should go back to 2.2 units or maybe even 2.1 for tomorrow. Reset my alarm for an hour. Fingers crossed I'll wake up.

Wow Pita! I'd be realllll tempted to to 2.2 if I was you...you know how to handle it if he goes too low. Is Matt handling Pita's daytimes? Is he comfortable steering if needed?

You could go back to 2.2 and see if it's enough this time, or you could stay at 2.3 and see if he does it again (as long as Matt is comfortable steering if he does do it again). My thinking is that you just did 2.2 and it wasn't enough. Also, Sam went a little low last night too, so they are clearly just messing with us again. ;)

I'll be back from work about an hour after his shot this morning so maybe we will stay at 2.2 for today....Matt always checks with me before doing anything, which is what we're both comfortable with right now! He has steered him for me in the past also, so that's good.
