5/26 Hamilton is at peace

It hurts, but the day couldn’t have gone better for him. It was just the right time.

He ate a ton of crunchies and forbidden sugary snacks, drank all the cat milk he wanted, and passed in his favorite place in the yard.

Thank you to you all. It’s a difficult journey and not walking it alone has meant the world to us.
 
May your sweet kitteh Hamilton fly freely and land safely at the Bridge, waiting for you there. He was loved.cat_wings>o

I'm so glad it was a peaceful passing. I can only offer you wishes of peace and comfort. You are not alone in your sadness today,we all walk with you.
 
I did not know you or Hamilton but I think you did it just right.
Asleep in the backyard sounds a lot better than a hospital. I'm sure he felt the same way and thanked you for it.

Poor Rooney, his bestest friend in the whole world, won’t eat. She just covers her food and wants to be held. I get it, sweet girl, I get it.

This photo was from one of Hamilton’s tough nights. She would wake up in the night to groom him and would rarely fall asleep without touching him.

Much sadness for you and your family, including Rooney. Even when its their time to go, its never easy on those left behind. :bighug:

What a blessing that Hamilton had such a gentle good-bye. I'm very sorry for your loss. And sending some extra healing vines for Rooney's grief.

I am glad the memory of Hamilton's last day brings you some comfort. As others mentioned, by far a better way to say goodbye than in a hospital or vet's office. He left on his terms.

My heart goes out to you and Rooney. I know you wish you could explain it to her and help her with the loss. You will just have to be there for each other. :bighug::bighug:

Crossing the rainbow bridge is harder on you ... happy to hear his last moments were happy for him ...may he land softly on the other side and rest easy with the other kitties there.:rb_icon:
 
I am so sorry for your loss. I sounds like Hamilton was embraced by your caring and passed knowing how much he is loved.
