Yesterday's

We did not make it as far as we wanted to yesterday, but that is okay. Ended up calling it quits because we were short on hotel options. Fort Collins was wanting 250$ for a regular room at the Days Inn plus pet deposit... Um, nope. Not for 12 hours of use. :p It was either stay where we were or drive for 4-6 more hours. We opted for where we were. Pig needed a break. No worries, we will either make up the time or have an extra day on the travel. Either way all is well...

Pig pulled yet another stunt today... Typically he does not even care about doors, but this hotel is old and he can hear all the noises around us. We were just inside and closing the door and he took his opportunity.. He made it about 6 inches into the hallway before he realized that was a bad idea and bellied down, frozen. All I had to do was say "Pig, what in the world are you doing...!?!?" and he was slinking back into the room.. :woot: I am going to need a prescription for Xanax and heart pressure meds before we get back...

Other than that, pretty uneventful... We saw some great wildlife on the trip yesterday.. Pig wanted to eat said wildlife. o_O It was great for all!!

Hope days are amazing for everyone!!

:woot: Hotel-Security-08.jpg Not worth it Pig...nothing but more doors:p

What's your eta to being back home?
Got the PetLuv carrier in the other day! Both kitties LOVE napping in it:)

Yikes on the FT Collins hotel rate. I paid no where near that, even in peak summer season. But it was a different hotel.

Safe travels today. One more sleep before your own bed.

Praying for safe travels for the rest of your journey :bighug:. It has been amazing to watch and read.
Thank you! I am a few days in uploading our journey home... The internet is not the most stable between towns and our hotel last night was not the best for it either! We are glad to share. I just hope it helps others in the future, especially if the cost of other SRT programs is a bit much for some. WSU's comparable pricing makes the travel worth it, for sure... :bighug::bighug::bighug:

:joyful: Oh that is so funny! All these halls remind me of the Shining.. But, with the kitties! :p Pig don't do it, Pig!! :woot:

We hope to be home late tonight, but we are running into more time delays.. We may need to stop for one more night. There is a ton of traffic today and 25 South is all backed up. We also have been hunting some RadCat along the way, but everyone seems to be out of it.. Moms wants a geode and now that I need to buy one I can't find one to save my life....

Yay!! I am glad they like it! It is a pretty amazing carrier for sure... I paid almost as much for it as I did the big one in the back of the car but, to me, it is entirely worth the cost. Its like a portable kitty condo!

Yes!! I could not believe the costs! The La Quinta was close to 250 and the Residence was 309!!! I am ready for my bed and I know that Pig is for sure... I can't wait to see Tail... He is going to be like Velcro!

Where did you stay? I wonder why costs were so much higher....???

I wish WSU had been an option in our time. It was just one day away, Spokane was out first night's stop on the way to CSU.
Yes.. I was looking at that. You were not very far from there at all. They way Dr. Fidel talked they had been treating Acro Kitties for over 10 years. However, it does not seem that they really advertise that and, instead, rely on people to find them...

Pig certainly wants to keep you "entertained."
Yes he does.. He is good at that. Long ago in the times before we knew a lot about Acro, my vet suggested a 2x a day feeding schedule to see if that would help to curb numbers. THAT was awful. I had to buy a locking trash can and quite eating at my house... He stole pizza and a biscuit off my daughter's plate, hence the name Black Biscuit.. :p It felt like a lifetime of that, but in reality it only lasted a week before I said, "nope.. this is wrong." I knew something was not right...

He certainly lacks no confidence and is not afraid to go for what it is he thinks he wants...

My sister's cat thought anything anyone was eating was his. You had to stand in the middle of a room, feet from any piece of furniture, if you wanted to eat yogurt. He ate unadorned pasta, would fight you for melon, and forget it if you were eating fish.

Oh this is so relatable... This is exactly how I eat at home! :p Pig is in his manners, now, but his civie brother Tail is a covert sneak... He does not care. I call it my tax.... If I am eating I must appease the kitty lords and proffer food as an offering... :p

Poor Pig the Explorer! His adventures are stifled in his youth!

It will be nice for you guys to finally get home tonight. Then the Acro reduction over the coming months will make it all worth it. I'm not sure I would drive to WSU from Austin - that is just too far away.

:p He has many more years to explore! In a strange land is not the place... :joyful:

It was the only place I found that I could afford. I would have to add travel as there are no places anywhere close to me that had any sort of a good reputation. I needed a place with positive notes and a good history. Even with travel we came in under the cost of CSU. And left with a fantastic adventure... :woot: But, I would not undertake it alone, so I imagine that is a factor...
May 11 - 13 = CSU graduation dates for 2018. So that is what you were competing with. That is probably a peak for their hotels.

You know... I had thought about that.. We had to schedule around that in Washington... It did not even cross my mind until after we left...

We did not make it all the way home tonight... Pig was done with traveling for the day and I think so were we. We stopped in Colby, KS and will continue on to home from there... He is doing very well, despite getting a bit anxious in the kennel. I think a lot of it is because he is not working that back leg like he is used to and it is getting stiff. It had quite a bit more wobble in it when he got out at the hotel... He is sleeping with it tucked under him as I speak and this usually says that it is bothering him... I gave a bit more Gaba, but not quite what I give for travel.. About 60mg vs the 75mg for travel...

How is your gabapentin dispensed? I get 100ml capsules and have to divide the powder then put in seperate gel caps. Is there an easier more accurate way? We tried the oil, she would not eat it in anything.

Woo Hoo! The big time in Colby KS - partying it up! I never even heard of it. My Mom and my aunt (her sister) were born in 1933 and 1935 in Atchison, KS, which I think is mostly farming. My Mom is gone (in 2016).

At least tomorrow should be easy. Oklahoma is not that far.

Mine is not an accurate science either, but a little easier than the capsules. I get mine compounded into a "chicken" (and I use this term loosely :p) flavored tablet. The tablet is quartered into 25mg sections. I can take a quarter (25mg) of the tablet and use my pill splitter to cut that quarter in half. Then I will usually just either pinch some off or use the pill splitter to cut the 1/8 piece into slices. It is not perfect, but allows for a margin of accuracy. I tend to prefer that over the capsules... I have never actually pilled his Gaba. Instead I just mix it into his food. I think I am very blessed with this one because Pig has a ravenous appetite, even with Gaba, MiraLax, EZ Egg, fish oils, and sometimes cranberry mixed into his food...

I never even heard of it
:pThey only Colby I knew of up to now was the cheese... But, I love that stuff so much I figured a town called that could not be half bad... :joyful:

I am sorry to hear this Jeff... :( That I cannot imagine... I have heard of Atchison before, but I do not think I have actually ever been there. My Step Mom was from Wichita. That is the extent of my experience with Kansas. Now I know that is it cold, wet, and windy... ;)

It is about 8 hours from here, so not overly bad. The boy is just done with the whole travel thing... I can see it in his anxiousness. I think a large part is because of not being able to stretch that leg. Tomorrow, though, we will be home and he will be happy! I am excited to see Tail also!! :cat:
