Well his shot last night was two hours early and I have to keep on schedule so there's been 14 hours since last dose. No way am I shooting this low and going to work. The depot will be upset but I don't care about that. Seems both times I've shot late he's gone low so the preshot looks like it's a dropping number.

I don't blame you for skipping since you won't be able to monitor. Depending on where he is tonight, you may want to consider another reduction. That 67 is after the BCS helped drain the depot.

Sometimes they do come down the dosing scale really fast. Since you have the BCS, you know the 67 is really from the current dose. Yes, it is okay to reduce.

I would say the dental was the missing piece of the puzzle on why he was so high for so long. I wouldn't be surprised if he goes into remission now.

Considering that his teeth and gums may have been responsible for the march up the ladder, now that his mouth has been addressed it’s highly likely his insulin needs will change and it has potential to be dramatic. Since you can’t be home to monitor and also can’t leave food for him for safety sake take the reductions.

When BG starts to reduce post dental, downward momentum can be difficult to manage- like trying to rein in wild horses. BK is an example.

Well hopefully the wild horse won't go too fast. I'll be upsetting his depot a lot as I won't shoot low green and leave for the day.

I was expecting a horrible bounce or at least a high yellow from having had NO SHOT for 26 hours!!! So me thinks Silver has had enough of this insulin lark and is saying he wants OTJ. I believe it will happen soon. Yet another dose reduction earned tonight.
