Good Morning L & L ~

Dental Day, YEAH! It wasn't as bad as I thought feeding three other animals and not Bubba. He was in his man cave when I got up so he got closed in while I got the other 3 fed and meds. He is a drooling mess and his little tongue is sticking out and he has his bib all matted from the drool. The vet said I could give 1/2 of his dose but I have never given insulin the morning of a dental before. But, since he was the highest BG's ever prior to the dental, I gave him a token dose of .25 unit instead of 1/2 his dose.

I could not have watched this boy suffer for another week , so I am so grateful that I was a squeaky wheel to get him in today. Anyone see the movie "Terms of Endearment" with Shirley McClain and Debra Winger. The scene where Shirley McClain flips out in the hospitals nurses' station to get their attention for her dying daughter. I was almost that bad in the reception area of the vet's office on Monday when they said the first opening in their schedule was June 4th. The owner of the practice is doing Bubba today. Nice man, he saw Bubba on Monday for the first time. He told me he wished all his clients were as OCD as me. Not sure if that was a compliment or not...........

Vines to all Beans and Kitties in need.

ETA: @Gill & George , the spoon tip really does work. I started him off last night with the spoon and he did finish on his own. Sending comfort vines to BFG and I so hope they get him in ASAP. I will gladly call them for you and "Shirley McClain" them, LOL

Barrels of vines for a good dental day (and no more drool)!

I'd take the OCD comment as a compliment. You are on top of things for your kitties and I suspect that means a great deal to the vet.

In case you haven't had a chance to think about it, you might want to get a jar or two of baby food for Bubba.

I've got 10 all ready on the shelf. The baby food and FF classics were my saving grace these last 3 days. Hope I will be able to get him back on his raw diet again.

Vines for today's dental. So happy you got him in!!! How can you be denied after Shirley McClaining them:joyful::joyful:

For you Bubba vibes.gif :cat:

Good luck at the Vet today with the Dental..........I'm sure it will go great and all your anxieties will disappear. BTW - I got letters after my name too, none that make me any money but certainly an advantage!

Most definitely a complement!

Perfect surgery vines for Bubba. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Score you got the owner to do the surgery. I'm surprised they would have blocked off some times for emergency surgeries, they probably have, but good on you for making them realize this was an immediate need. I'm imagining you going Shirley McClain on them! :joyful: I hope Gill doesn't need your services but I'm glad she has you as a secret weapon. ;)

Barrels of vines for BOB.

Glad the spoon tip helped, something I remembered reading somewhere on the board, it just came to me the other night when I was desperate for BFG to eat. So thankful for all I have learned from members on the board.:)

Good report from the vet today, dental scheduled for Tuesday morning, his mouth infection is clearing nicely, it looked much less angry today.
LOL I think Dr M thinks I'm OCD too, if it were a phrase they used here I think he would have said as much. But if I have trouble I'll set you loose on them.:joyful::p

Good luck at the vet today, Bubba! And peace vines for you, Bobbie! It's always hard to leave our babies. Looking forward to a good report in a few hours!

Yes! For the dental appointment Tuesday! I am sure it can't come fast enough for you and BFG! Hope the AB continues to give him coverage until then.

Hi Djamila! Amazingly, I was so calm this AM and couldn't get him there fast enough. He was suffering so......it broke my heart. The last toothache that took him out of remission the first time wasn't this bad and his BG's did not get anywhere near as high as they are this time.

How are you and Sam?? I hope your are doing well. :bighug: Thanks for popping over to Lantus to visit :bighug::bighug:

Bubba is in the house! He was happy to be home and very hungry. The vet instructions was to wait 2 hours home before feeding. Yeah right.....I had to give in at 30 minutes as he was jumping the counters and his cat buffet and falling as he was sort of drunk still. I was afraid of him hurting himself so he got 1.5 oz of baby food.

Getting ready to get T/F/S at 6 pm EST. He was 191 at +8. Hope he came down some. I think since there are pain meds on board and the source of pain has been eliminated, I will shoot .75 unit instead of the 1 unit he was on prior to today. If tomorrow he is too high, I will take back up.

Vet gave him amoxicillin 100 mg., but once a day for 10 days rather than the normal twice a day. I had to ask for them so maybe he is just appeasing me. Pain med in Onisor which I think he had a reaction to once before. I need to look back through his records.

Glad to hear it went well!!! The one a day abs are good, both Harley and Davidson were on them and they worked well. Davidson ate too.......if Bubba is eating and can eat some freeze dried treats then perhaps like H&D pain meds would not be needed. They are hard on them, the abs will cause liquipoo and stinks like hell, but they serve a purpose and need to be taken.

Good luck with the dose!
