Yesterday's R experiment was a failure. I don't know what happened, it looks like a furshot on the SS but I know it wasn't. DD was holding him so there was no wiggling and I saw/felt it go in.

So we're I'm the middle of another spectacular bounce. :(

I increased to 4.75 u this morning, but felt some wetness on the fur so it was at least a partial furshot.:banghead:

I wish I had answers for you, but many times when they are doing something perplexing the best answer is, because: cat! :rolleyes:

Furshots are so frustrating. I hope he breaks his bounce soon and the next R experiment goes according to plan. :bighug::bighug::bighug:

Some questions I've been mulling over:

1) Can I give another dose of R today at some point to see if I can get him out of the black in what appears to be a skipped shot?

2) I probably should have increased to 5 units this morning. Since I didn't actually increase at all, based on the looks of things so far, could I reasonably give 5 u tonight?

@Bobbie And Bubba
@Wendy&Neko .
@Sandy and Black Kitty

My frustration level and emotions are increasing so my critical thinking skills are probably decreasing.

It is looking like a FS for sure. Is the SS up to date, last HI at +3. I don't see why you couldn't use some R today to help pull him down since he didn't get all the insulin today or maybe none.

As far as dose goes tonight, I would stay with the 4.75 , and especially if you are going to give some R today as the next cycle could be effected as well.

I hope the others weigh in.

since he saw low blue on 4,5u 4.75u is the next dose.

Why do you feel it was a failure?

R can help bridge the gap between an L fur shot and the next L shot time. Since you don’t have much R data close monitoring is still needed.

How is Floyd?

Because he continued to go up, very quickly, so it doesn't look like there was any effect.

I can monitor him closely.

Floyd is totally fine. He's alert and comes running when he hears "his" timer on my phone go off.

I just updated with the +6 info, Hi again!

I'll stick with 4.75 u tonight.

I think I'll go ahead and try shooting some R right now.

If you haven’t already and you have the time, comb through Sandy’s Black Kitty’s SS and see how she used R. I found it very insightful.

I hope the meter stops saying Hi to you for the rest of the day, it’s nice that it’s so friendly, but it’s a bit much. :rolleyes:

I too used R as a bridge with fur shots or partial fur shots. Far too many times. :oops:

I agree with Sandy on the next dose. Also that all data is good data when experimenting with R.

Hard to say what Floyd might have done last night without the R. I had suggested R because he was due for a bounce. For what it's worth, Neko's worst bounce numbers were always cycle 3 after the "low".

You are doing great. Floyd is a not the easiest patient. :bighug::bighug:

Well, he's Hi again, but he did move down some, so maybe he's not AS high as he would have been.

Here he is on top of our piano checking out the birds in the yard and wondering what all the fuss is about.

Looks can be deceiving. Keep in mind that there is no way to know how things would have played out without R.

Every R trial has value in that you learn how your kitty responds under a variety of circumstances.

It’s all good. :cool:
Thanks! It's easy to get discouraged, especially when his diagnosis anniversary is this month and he's never been well regulated.

But, I will persevere!
