Hmmmm...
Might he be heading for the express elevator?

Yup. We all saw that coming a mile away. Unfortunately, the timing was not right for me to try R again, so here we are.

I'm up for suggestions on feeding. I've been trying to split the food between, PS, +2 and +4, and adding a bit more carbs (between 4-7%) at +2 to try to help with bouncing. I don't see any change there, but lots of other things have been changing lately with Levemir, being sick, etc. Should I give that more time or try a different strategy.

Also, this is cycle 4 on this dose. Increase tonight or wait to give some time for the bounce to clear?

With Floyd seeing blues at this dose, I'd hold at least six pcycles before considering an increase. Paws crossed for this surf.

@Bellasmom Regular is the name of the insulin. It's a fast acting insulin most often used by vet's. By itself it's not a good insulin for cats. It's used here most often by caregivers with high dose cats or with ketones.

Ahhhh gotcha thanks, I didn’t know cats could be on 2 different insulin’s at the same time

Good, I was hoping you were going to try some R tonight. It may not prevent a bounce, but if we can put a net out in the lower atmosphere, that will help.

Bubba was using the Novolin R along with Lantus when he developed ketones. The fast acting R ( Bolus insulin) helps to pull the numbers down better than Lantus and gives Lantus something to grab onto. I had help using it from Jill and Libby that helped me with dosing and timing. Otherwise I would have been lost as Bubba was a late nadir cat at that time.

ETA: Actually, I would have been lost no matter what time Bubba's nadir was as there is a real art using it and I was very grateful for the help.

Right about the 100 points max we want R to drop him. Looks like a good amount of R tonight. Sorry about the late night.:D Looks like he was breaking a bounce today.
